Hack description

This is a hack of Capcom's Mega Man 2 for the NES. The hack isn't a complete remake of the original game, but all levels have been changed to look different from the original ones. The colors have also been changed, and a new title screen has been made.

This hack includes:

New levels

New colour palettes

A few graphic changes (very few though)

Various HEX fixes

Version 1.1 (incl. some bug fixes) released on 19 August 2009.

(DurfarC felt the need to inform that Air Man's level is possible, there are ladders hidden in the clouds. Evil.)

It's purely a level redesign hack, but it puts in more effort than a lot of the other level redesign hacks from the 2000s. Level design is fairly solid and thoughtful while still adhering closely to Mega Man 2 (that is, keeping the disappearing blocks in Heat Man's stage, lasers in Quick Man's stage, etc.) A good hack if you want to play a "Remix" of Mega Man 2 that's mostly fair.

The stages, and enemy placements are very well made, and honestly I can't find anything bad about it. I would say this is a pretty solid romhack with very few bugs I've encountered. I think my only complaint with this romhack would have to be Metal Man's stage that is armed with way too many traps, but not impossible to get through.

The levels are quite challenging, with some tricky enemies placement, but it doesn´t make the game unfair(at least to me), just learn where they will appear. The stage colours are beautiful and very well done. It makes some stages look different than the original ones. Overall, it´s a good hack.
