Hack description

Here is a full game hack that changes all levels, some graphics, and some boss & weapon behaviors a bit. Included is a Main Patch which does all of the above, a patch that only does the weapons & boss behaviors, and a patch that only has just the level changes just in case you want one or the other or all. This patch is intended for Rockman 6. If you apply to Mega Man VI, please be aware of the risk of ROM corruption.

Rockman 6: Mr. X Return - EHDobu_GM2021-08-14Version 1.0

Rockman 6: Mr. X Return

Levels: Eh

Graphics: No Change

Music: No Change

Enemies: No Change

Bosses: Bad (few changes)

Weapons: Okay

Castle: Bad

Difficulty: EASY-MEDIUM (Plant Man's stage is HARD)

Comments: Mr. X Return raises a good question: is a mediocre CHIKO hack truly better than an atrocious CHIKO hack? It's on the better end of CHIKO hacks, having mostly competent stage design and mildly tricky platforming, but there's nothing that really stands out other than the aerial assault that plagues Plant Man's level (good luck!) Bosses are a coin flip whether or not their attacks are sped up or slowed down, and all of the Castle bosses are practically unchanged. At the end of the day, Mr. X Returns won't pour salt in your wound like the Cray games will, but it's also just very... bland and unmemorable.
