This hack is so much fun. The graphics and levels have been changed, otherwise it's more SMB2. The difficulty is significantly raised, but not too much. I did get stumped once and had to look up a playthrough on YouTube. I really like the bosses, puzzles, and new sound effects. I'm currently at level 6-3 (about 80% finished) and am having a blast. I made an account just to respond to this game.

I guess it's all in the name. Legend of the Blob Bros. 2 doesn't give away it's a Super Mario Bros. 2 hack. Because of that, a lot of players missed this hack back in the day. That's a shame, because this hack stands with the greats of Rom hacking. The author turned SMB2 completely inside-out and made a whole new game from it. Amazing sprite work, a new story and brand new levels. The difficulty is well balanced, this is not a hard-type mod. Legend of the Blob Bros. 2 is still worth your time if you are looking for SMB2 gameplay in a beautiful new world!

I remember years ago that this hack was being worked on for five years, BMF54123 put a lot of love into this hack, and it shows. The level designs are really good, and the graphics are awesome. The characters are based on comics that BMF made years ago, so make sure you give this hack a spin, it's really good and the ending is pretty sweet.

Probably one of the best Super Mario Bros 2 hacks out there and an excellent example of what can be done through ROM hacking. There are so many complicated edits which I have never seen done in any other SMB2 hack which makes the game play feel more fresh. Definitely recommend.

This is by far the best hack of SMB 2 I've ever played. The graphics really show what the NES's potential is, and the gameplay is classic SMB2, with a tricky twist.

I did find one game-breaking bug in 4-3. When you're going up the shaft, there's a lower door on the left and a higher door on the right. If you go through the left door, you're stuck with no way to get back. You're forced to jump down the pit and do a Continue. Then you have to start over in 4-1. Not nice at all, given the difficulty.

It follows the original game spirit, with moderated difficulty. The majority of the enemies graphics were changed, for esthetical purposes. All levels were changed and they are well designated.

The hack expects the player to know the original game mechanics. To crouch to charge up the super jump is commonly used. In specific places, it is necessary to place ice blocks or barrels in scenario items, like clouds or windows. The scenario items are intangible for the player, but unexpectedly tangible items can be placed on the top of them.

There are a few puzzles where the player can be stuck if he can't figure out the solution. However, they are few in numbers and the majority of them aren't difficulty, with few exceptions.
