What a take! This is a somewhat new Castlevania quest in that as one can see the major similarities from 8 Eyes to Castlevania, even the sprite looks like Simon Belmont.

Well now here is Simon Belmont to pick up the quest and it's quite good. First, you no longer start with lower health, the hidden blocks in the game now give your whip a better reach and cosmetic look going from Vampire killer to a Morning Star! The clues still exist though the jewelry looks different too. The little bats are now big bats, you still do have a falcon (maybe a Raven?) to get some tricky tiles and doors and the items are straight up Castlevania. The title screen is different and the castle selection screen has a black background.

Having the whip does ease the challenge, but not entirely as it can be difficult still. (That bastard Egypt boss still is a nuisance)

There are no glitches at all and the more difficult stages are accessible. The only thing I found as a possible glitch is that the hidden health power ups do not heal and actually reduce your health! The could also be how the game is re done.

The game is said to spur brand new Castlevania adventures and I would hope so even though the author of this hack hasn't done nothing to this in years. Maybe someone else could???? Wink wink, nudge nudge....

If you found the version of 8-Eyes without Simon too tough? This is the hack for you. It stays true to the original game, but uses mechanics from most of the early Castlevania titles. This hack is great for players who want to play 8-eyes as it was intended to be. Congrats to the hacker who made this!
