This is one of the best CV hacks I've ever played, it's basically a Dark version of CV. The predominant colors are red, blue and purple, these colors are perfect to make the game darker. One of my favorite thing is that the enemies are colored red as to symbolize the evil on the contrary Simon is colored blue as to symbolize the good (I'm better than Aristotle). Another of my favorites thing is that during the game you can hear a little creepy audio distortion which initially is annoying but it adds a lot of tension during the levels. The last thing I want to talk about is the sub-weapons-drop, in this hack the sub-weapons are rarer than the original game but this hack drop more powerful sub-weapons, you can find a lot of crosses and holy waters. My rating for this hack is 4/5

This is a neat hack with level design that completely changes how you play Castlevania. The controls are the same, and so are the subweapons, but the levels are laid out in such a way that the subweapons are less necessary, or else I've played entirely too much Castlevania (also possible). There are more platforming elements, and more enemies are placed like guardians, as opposed to ambushers, so it almost plays like a Mega Man, and the most interesting thing is that it's only subtle tweaks that make this change; the levels are still very familiar. My favorite change in design is the additions of pits to The Hallway. You know: the one right before Death? It might seem like just an ordinary jerk thing to do, but it completely changes the way that you have to approach it and manage your position, because once you've backed a knight into a corner, it's much harder to dodge everything else!

The real star of the show, here, is the new palette, and man, is it something special. The enemies tend to stick to a dark red scheme, which not only makes them look more bloodstained and menacing, but also provides a sharp contrast to Simon's new light blue color, which also looks excellent. There's not a lot of variety in enemy color, but the consistency makes them a different kind of special, and that's coming from someone who's absolutely in love with palette swaps of almost anything. The backgrounds are spectacular, as well, generally sticking to a lovely range of red, blue, and purple. The very first area has a lot of black and deep pinks that are very nearly red, and the second area has a lovely variety of purple. Even the pastels of the fifth area make a neat backdrop. If you're looking for a different Castlevania experience with a bold color scheme, definitely give this one a go!
