Hack description

Background information:
So, what's this all about? "The Second Reality Project Reloaded" is not another new entry in the TSRP-series, it's a remake of the first part. The hack finally features a new overworld (people requested this for years) and of course, custom graphics and custom music. Besides that, not much have changed, most of the time the level design is the same as before. So, keep in mind that the original hack came out back in 2002, and back in the days you don't had the possibility to insert custom sprites, dozens of ASM-hacks and so on. So please don't expect anything groundbreaking here, it's still the same thing as it was before: a hack which is about level design and nothing else. But with that said, chances are if you enjoyed the original hack, you will love the remake for sure!

Storyline:
Bowser is back again, more powerful than times ago:
He found a power source which let him rebuilt his Airship Fleet. Soon he plans on attacking the Mushroom Kingdom one time more! It's up to Mario to stop him!

Note: This hack will not work right on ZSNES 1.4*. Just use an older or newer version instead!

Feels and Looks Different than the Originalpianohombre2017-04-11Version 1.2

This hack borrows from Super Mario Bros. 3 and Yoshi's Island. It's really a lot different than the original SMW, not just a hack that redesigns the levels and extends gameplay. The world map you travel across is completely redesigned and looks more artsy than the original. There is also new audio. It's challenging, so made for people who've played SMW at least fully through 1 or 2x. You will probably need save states to get through some worlds.

I enjoyed the added challenge and was very excited to play something that didn't just re-arrange the enemies and change level design. It's fun you will actually enjoy getting through the levels, whereas some hacks are so brutal you will be frustrated after stage 5 and just abandon the game for months.

My biggest gripe with the game is the music. The author mentions he spent years and many re-designs giving us this great visual treasure, but some levels and audio was so boring I would have preferred the original. It's really a shame the author couldn't give us the great addition in both departments, but I can't really blame him/her for that. A few levels I did actually enjoy the audio better than the original but overall the audio was maybe 5 or 6/10 while visuals/graphics were 9 or 10/10.

I definitely recommend checking it out. You will love to see the new enemy designs, boxes, backgrounds, and play with slightly added difficulty.

Crashes on Real Hardwarethunder1352017-01-29Version 1.2

This game will not work on real hardware. I got as far as the castle when the sound suddenly ended. Once I completed the level the game soft-locked. Apparently the game uses some sounds that do not work on a SNES.

I highly recommend The Second Reality Project 1 (SNES Version), on which this is based. That game is a blast. This game is basically a graphical upgrade of said hack, so if you don't mind playing on an emulator, with all of the inherent input lag, then this should be fun for you.

A great hack with tons of secretsTimaeus2016-02-21Version 1.2

This hack changes everything in the game except the bosses. The graphics are very well done and with a different style, the musics are awesome, especially that one on the first level and the map music of that optional dimension (I LOVED THAT MUSIC, IS SO BADASS), the new sprites are ok and really gives a different gameplay sensation (at least to me).

The level design here starts easy and start getting harder and harder while going on, it also contains tons and tons of secrets. Fortunately, a gigantic part of it are shortcuts, so you don´t have to find them at all (except in that cheap forest area where you have to while dealing with poor and frustrating levels and puzzles). There´s a alternative dimension where you can only access by finding the Fortress secrets, where every level is a reference to the Sonic 1 levels. It also features a AWESOME MAP MUSIC!!!

But even with that cheap forest area and those hard levels in the end (where save-state IS required), I still recommend it because of all the features and gameplay sensation. If you like to find secrets you´ll LOVE this one as well.
