Good level design, very difficult. Saves recommendedquixoticflux8882020-07-15Version 1.0

Great game at a high difficulty. I've played a lot of Mario in my day and imo you'll enjoy this more one level at a time using saves. World 6 has some wacky springs that I struggled with in particular.

Overall a fun, vanilla-ish well designed challenge hack

A decent hack but it has some flaws.Pie-jacker8752019-03-09Version 1.0

There's a lot of coins and the early levels are generous with powerups.

World 4-4 felt like someone's first level with nothing but linear jumps between single tile platforms.

It started to get difficult for me on World 6 when it seems the hack maker discovered springboards and so made a bunch of technical jumps with them. 8-1 is a mixture of the linear series of 1 tile wide jumps of 4-4 and the difficulty imposed by springboards.

The hack lacks care and polish. There are several sections where the player can get themselves stuck by scrolling the screen too far and falling off a pipe or stack of blocks that's too high for them to jump back up to. There are instances of this in the original games as well, but the issue was clearly ignored in the level design.

There's no floor on the checkpoint of world 7-3, so if you don't jump at the start of the level you're going to die instantly.

If you're bored of Super Mario Bros. 2 on the famicom disk system, it's a decent exercise to spend an hour or two on. For someone who is not experienced with how Super Mario Bros. controls, they'll probably find it too challenging.
