Hack description

This hack... is something else.

Tired of playing all these bad mario romhacks? You should play Something else...

This hack is the result of over two years of works. It feature lot of fun and varied levels, a new powerup, an original plot and a lot more. It currently has 69 exits.

The game is available in both english (ENG) and french/français (FR).

Note: If you are going to play the hack in Zsnes, you may need to change the "per2exec=100" to "per2exec=150" in zsnes.cfg to avoid slowdowns. Other emulators should be fine.

And if you find any problems in the hack or have any questions, PM me on smwcentral.

A great way to lose your hair sometimesTimaeus2016-01-27Version 1.02

Resuming, this hack changes everything in the game: New bosses, a completely new soundtrack (a great one actually), a new power-up, new graphics, new levels and overworld map, it allows you to save after each level, etc, etc.

But there´s one problem: while some levels can be beatable without much effort, there´s others that feel like more "kaizo" than anything else.

Here´s few of then: There´s a level that you have to use the new power-up to wall-jump until the checkpoint. Looks easy, right? Not when you have to dodge thrower chucks, spread flowers, saws and piranhas in the walls, while dealing with a small width corridor, and since you need the power-up to proceed, you can´t get hit. If there´s a safer way to get through that, tell me. Save-stating here is a bit dangerous, because you can let off of the wall. In the second half you still must keep it on to double jump all those moving saws. That level sucks. It feels like the author said:"alright lets putting enemies here and there and expect that this should work". That´s a horrible way of thinking.

Another level was one that combine flying and platform-walking koopas with small diagonal platforms. BAD combination. The last one is Chaotic Sky (something like that), where the game throws at you enemies on the screen that you have very few time to thing about how to dodge them.

The bosses here are pretty hard too. Like the giant eye that keeps speeding up after every hit, making the player dizzy.

But, like I said, it DOES have enjoyable levels and gimmicks, so everything isn´t lost.

Overall, the difficulty of this game is pretty unbalanced. There´s easy level, but there´s very hard ones as well. If someone asks me if I would recommend this hack, well...the answer is tough. Does worth it get frustrating sometimes to have a different gameplay experience? If yes then you´ll like this one. I didn´t finished, so maybe the rest of it will be better than that? If yes, I´ll prefer ignore it.
