The hack starts off decently enough, but quickly deteriorates due to a mix of odd glitches and downright mean level design. Several tracks have a split track design with very narrow roads on either side of a tiny gap. Bumping the inside of this gap almost always result in you being sucked into it, resulting in heavy damage if not outright death. This reaches its climax in Fire Field, with a windy narrow section near the end. The AI can take this just fine and is liable to knock you directly into the gap. Some tracks, like Death Wind 1 and Red Canyon, have very long jumps that require you to swerve midair at a 45 degree angle to make them. The former's jump, taken naturally, leads you into the Death Wind 2 portion of the track. White Land 2 has a booster jump, but the jump plate is just a little too small, making it very easy to fly off the track and slide across the void, almost certainly resulting in a death. Mute City 3 pairs magnet rails and dirt with a road so narrow, your machine cannot even fit on it all the way. On Red Canyon 2, when I took the clearly labeled jump shortcut, I was silently passed, finishing in second despite no AI racer ever coming into sight. It's a real shame, because the track designs aren't bad in general, but this is a hack that could have used a little more care and polish before being posted. I had to use rewinds many times while playing due to all of the above issues. | |||
