Pokemon - Fire Red Version (USA, Europe).gba - NOINTROHack description
Pokemon Septo Conquest is our debut game. In essence it's to show that ANYONE can make a good ROM-Hack if they work hard enough on it. Because we're actually friends in real life and not just online it's given us a huge advantage to make Septo Conquest, which we've been working on since last autumn. The hacking isn't the BEST, scripting could be better, but we feel as if we've got a good, funny and enjoyable game.Screenshots

I'll keep this short. Using a Pokemon game as a basis for an rpg might be fun. Heck, with a little effort it can be a blast to play. Sadly enough that is not the case with PKMN Septo Conquest v3.1 . Enormous plotholes, abysmal dialogue, intense graphical glitches and basically lacking any sense (particularly of balance in a game) it is difficult to credit the makers for all the time they claim to have put into it. To illustrate, dialogue for professor Oak mainly consists of stereotypical gangsta-slang that grates instantly. On top of that most dialogue features randomly misplaced symbols and letters. The balance is not to be found, you either pick the right starter or you get your behind handed to you. One point in favor of this hack is the design of the world. Towns are like a maze, but at least they are eye-pleasing. So in conclusion I would say that unless the team goes puts in a lot more effort to bring it up to snuff, this is one hack you should avoid like the plague. | |||
