Metroid Master? Blaster Samus? This is Dark Alliance a unique little crossover into the Blaster Master universe. The sprite work is well done as you use the gunship instead. You get different upgrades too. The Samus sprite in the overworld is nicely done and can even morph ball even if it is just for fun, it's still nice and use of classic Samus sprite in the fortresses is a fine touch. The world design is straight ripped from classic Metroid to designs that go to other metroid games in 8 bit style. The music is blaster master straight up though and not a big deal really. Even the boss design is now more metroid! My only drawback is the ship always looking at you regardless if you go left or right and shooting up looks kinda odd. And you cannot tell which direction you are aiming unless you fire. Thankfully not a big deal, but still little polish maybe. There are no glitches present and this is playable all to the end. It's a clever idea.

I'm surprised nobody has reviewed this game yet. This was probably one of my all time favorite hacks, combining elements of Metroid within the Blaster Master universe. I only wish that Nintendo had thought of this long ago for the NES, because it would have made my childhood that much better.
