| Rockman 4 BCAS - I don't like high - speed hacks, however... | diablo666 | 2022-03-13 | Version 1.0 |
...it turned out to be interesting and entertaining. This hack was suggested to me by Roevsky, they say it is "one of the good hacks on MM4". I completely agree with him.
I have nothing to say about graphics and enemies. In the graphic part, the palette was changed, but qualitatively. We changed the AI for the enemies, but did not overcomplicate them. The hack met my expectations, even though I don't like high-speed hacks. Fun, interesting, creative, fresh. I recommend it to your acquaintance. P.S. Rockman 4 BCAS (Burst Chaser X Air Sliding) - with each passing - opens up more and more potential
| Feels like a brand new game! | thekingofmoo | 2021-07-21 | Version 1.0 |
BCAS completely redoes Mega Man's controls and is super speedy and fluid. The level design takes advantage of them to their fullest and is hard but not frustrating. I'm not sure if the music is taken from other games or is brand new, but it's great too! I like this hack even more than the original Mega Man 4. Play it!
| A new and fun gameplay style | Timaeus | 2015-12-30 | Version 1.0 |
Basically everything I said in Rockman 3 Burst Chaser is applied here. Megaman move, shot and climb a lot faster than normal. Also can slide in mid-air, turning it in a rare gameplay type. It also changes weapons, musics, enemies distributions and it adds new colours for enemies, bosses, stages and weapons and a level design with fun challenging and very appropriated to the gameplay. Overall is a completely new game that you must try it.

"They don't get much more self-explanatory than that." -qzecwx Indeed they don't. Burst Chaser X Air Sliding, as the title suggests, combines gameplay elements from two hacks: Tsukikuro's own Rockman 3 Burst Chaser, and Yuki Miyuki's Rockman 5 Air-Sliding. So basically, you move really fast, and can slide in mid-air now. The hack also changes the level design, the boss A.I, the weapons, the colors, and the music. The level design is very well done and polished, providing lots of fun and replay value. Unlike the original Air-Sliding, which was more oriented on puzzles, BCXAS is more focused one bare-bones platforming, which I don't find to be an issue. The boss A.I, while difficult at times, is still very nice. Each boss is given lots of new personality, especially given that the boss fights in the original weren't that difficult, and had lots of room for improvement. BCXAS definitely changes that, which I greatly appreciate. I don't have much to say about the weapons, seeing as they aren't really that different. Dive Missile is faster, Skull Barrier can be thrown, Ring Boomerang goes farther, Dust Crusher flies at an ark, and the rest have very small changes that aren't really worth mentioning. While not very different, the weapons are still fun to use, so I'll let it pass. The new music is great! Lots of awesome tracks. While I didn't know what games most of them were from, I still enjoyed them nonetheless. The only tracks I recognized were the title screen music, which was from Shadow of the Ninja(NES), and some of the Wily Castle themes, which were from other Mega Man games. Overall, while a little gimmicky, Rockman Burst Chaser X Air Sliding is a very polished hack that I had a lot of fun with. While the level design and bosses can get a little frustrating, it's not, nor does it ever feel impossible. I'd say you should give it a try, as long as you can take the speed. ;)
