Hack description

The purpose of this hack was to make the original Mega Man III much easier for gamers that find games that aren't too incredibly tough more enjoyable.

Key changes:

The vast majority of spikes and bottomless pits are eliminated. There are still some left in to provide at least some challenge.

All special weapons use up less energy, providing more fire power.

More Magnet Missiles, Spark Shocks, and Shadow Blades may be shot on screen at once.

Mega Man III Simplified - BADDobu_GM2022-05-06Version 1.0

Mega Man III Simplified

Levels: Bad (few changes)

Graphics: No Change

Music: No Change

Enemies: No Change

Bosses: Bad (room changes)

Weapons: Bad (more ammo)

Castle: Bad (few changes)

Difficulty: EASY

Comments: Simplified doesn't "simplify" Mega Man 3 as much as merely does two things: remove nearly every pit & spike from the game, and quadruple your weapon ammo. It's a blunt way of making the game easier without addressing any kind of real balance changes, meaning Magnet Man's stage is a boring jaunt whereas Hard Man's stage remains unchanged. Worse yet is that MM3's biggest spike in difficulty—the Doc Robots—are also unchanged EXCEPT for Flash Man, who now has a platform you can... snipe him from? And for anyone that loathes the mandatory Rush Jet section in Needle Doc Robot's stage, guess what? It too is unchanged for some reason, the one place it would be GOOD to add platforms! Simplified is simultaneously stupid and condescending; only download it to gawk at the "fix" for the Break Man duel.

It's too hard for casual playerslegendarysnake12020-01-19Version 1.0

Megafield64 lost the focus on this hack.

Bosses no longer take a short time to be defeated. Do they need at least 20 shots maybe? that's a lot compared to the first simplified megaman who needed about 5 shots to die. For the casual gamer this is terrible. I really don't understand what Megafield64 was thinking when doing this hack, why to call this hack simplified is a lie. It is neither simple nor easy, it remains difficult, although less difficult than the vanila game. Reaching the end of the levels is more challenging and stressful than previous hacks. I tried to insist and unfortunately I ended up giving up playing this hack anymore, and it's not worth it. Unless he thinks about making the hack easier and more accessible, I don't recommend it.
