Comments: If you asked a drunk stranger to design a "harder" version of Mega Man 5, you'd probably end up with Advanced Edition. Stages are 80% the same as before, just with pits and spikes randomly scattered about (and often in unreachable places for some reason). Enemies now have their HP pumped up so high that you'll be desperately searching for ways to skip them—even if it means taking damage. None of this really makes the base game that much harder however, outside of the couple instances you have to deal with sumatrans (the tigers), as they no longer die to a single charged buster shot (whyyyyy?!). A neat thing Advanced Edition utilizes is faster screen transitions, but this comes at the cost of your shots being at knee-level (???) and some truly awful visual bugs during certain scrolling sections (Napalm's drill tunnel, the jet ski section, Dark Man 4, etc). Advamced Edition is both boring and a mess.

This is buggy, barely functional, and as far as I can tell isn't able to be completed. There's a screen in Star Man it's impossible to progress through.

All of the level layouts were changed, but none of the object positions were moved, which leads to enemies stuck inside walls or floating randomly in the air. The MEGAMAN V letters can't all be obtained due to this.

There's some weird engine bugs as well, like not being able to jump out of slides while charging, and regular shots emerging from Mega Man's feet instead of his arm.

It looks like it has promise, but it's not in a playable state in this version.
