Hack description

2015 Remix of Mike Tyson's Punchout!!

The characters are the same, but the order of their moves has changed, making the gameplay a bit different. For example, Glass Joe actually does something in the first 40 seconds.

The earlier characters are a little harder, the later characters are a little easier. Mike Tyson is a lot easier in this version.

Also, the colors have been changed, just for fun.

Pretty Much As Advertised!Emptyeye2023-11-12Version 1.0

This is a fun little remix of Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! where some of the enemy boxer AI has changed. If you're familiar with the speedruns of the original game, some of those strategies will still work..but not all of them.

Other than that, I enjoyed my playthrough. As the submission says, the early boxers (Up to about Bald Bull 2 if you asked me to pick a cutoff point) are a little harder, the later ones are a little easier, and Mike Tyson is a lot more reasonable, especially if you already have experience with the original.

Managed to play through it in one sitting, with my two losses being to Piston Honda 1 and Great Tiger, lending further credence to the difficulty claim.

Overall, I enjoyed this and recommend giving it a try if you're a fan of the original!

Great hack for people who've all but mastered the original game. I definitely got knocked down a few times when my muscle memory kicked in and I bobbed instead weaved. Old habits are hard to break, especially after twenty-some years.

Good fun, does what a good hack should do by breathing new life into an old game.
