| Definitely a Hack that should be played by everyone | Retro Master HD | 2021-03-31 | Version 1.0 |
The person who made this SMK Rom Hack has really gone all out on the graphics, music and the characters especially. I really like playing as Dirtbag because playing with him is obviously like playing as Toad in the original Super Mario Kart game. Really love how you were able to port the music, my two favourite theme tunes are the Super Mario Land temple theme tune and the Tetris Music B theme tune. Really love the design of the tracks as well and the design of the background also. By far the most amazing Rom Hack I have ever played definitely giving it a perfect 10/10. Definitely got to recommend this Hack because it seriously needs to be played by all people. :D
| Very impressive! | Ok Impala! | 2020-08-13 | Version 1.0 |
Super Baldy Kart changes about everything you know about Super Mario Kart. New drivers, new track graphics, new tracks, you name it. It's really impressive to see all the new environments, my personal favorite is the Moon with the jumping aliens, ready to grab you! Even the music was changed in Super Baldy Kart. Driving on the Moon with "The Moon" from Ducktales in the background, was a neat surprise! Be aware that you will get the best musical results when using BSNES or a real SNES. And is it any fun to play all the new tracks? I think that's a yes and a no. I had a lot of fun in all environments, except for the Egypt ones. While the other tracks give you some space to drive, all the Egypt tracks are pretty narrow. While I understand that's the point in a Pyramid, it didn't really work for me. I had a really hard time on these tracks to finish in one of the first 4 positions, even on 50cc. I also had some issues with the palette colors. At times the colors didn't match very well, making it hard to distinguish the track from out-of bounds. Though, this is solved when using BSNES in HD Mode 7. Overall, I would recommend this hack to everyone. It's a very impressive piece of work. The graphics and music make the game feel completely new, and there is a lot of challenge to be found in winning those new tracks.
