Hack description

IPS Patching required.

This is my final update (seriously this time).
Julius' weapons have been changed to reflect his character in this hack better. The boomerang weapon now has the Killer Mantle Soul ability so Julius can deal with Golems and Minotaurs more effectively.

A large amount of dialogue has been changed, as well as nearly all soul abilities colored to fit Death. Weapons have been customized, items have been relocated, enemy and weapon stats have been edited.

The story in Aria of Sorrow is completely revamped. The game play remains unchanged. However, the story takes on a completely different tone. The game starts with Death (Soma) being summoned to the Castle to locate Dracula's powers.

The characters names and sprites have been colored to adapt to the new story:

*Soma = Death
*Mina = Carmilla
*Hammer = Shaft
*Graham = Olrox
*Julius = Belmont

And being the Grim Reaper, Death starts with his equipment that would normally be obtained on hard mode.

Played through the whole thing all I saw was different text, a different color pallet and a very quick start to the chaos boss battle. Lots of purple and black. The story is meh. And the game will freeze when you make the Demon Lord enemy drop its soul. Learned that the hard way, thankfully this hack modifies so little of the game you can even swap savestates between it and the original, it gets you a black soma in the original if you load up a savestate from it. Only way to collect the Demon Lord soul is to boot up your save on the original and then get it back on this. I didn't use the recommended cheat, not sure it'd helped though, Death's Scythe isn't that good of a weapon as Claimh Solais is still the strongest weapon in the game by a long shot just because of the only handful of enemies weak to darkness and the abundance of them that are weak to light. Overall not recommended, the original feels better.

That's all it is. The game is exactly the same and even the description tells you to use a cheat to get Death's equipment and play as him. Literally cannot get lazier. Fanfiction.net exists for a reason.
