You can finally play all 38 e-Reader levels on a single game. This hack is our longtime dream come true. Well done!
| Makes the game perfect in emulation | hdofu | 2016-04-01 | Version 1.0 |
Finally with the use of codebreaker codes and this patch you can play the version of the game we should have had years ago. There were ways to apply save states that weren't very elegant, would often fail on reloading or at random, levels would suddenly stop working in some emulators, with this thats all gone, it makes the game fun to play with a ton of new levels that nintendo stiffed us on when the game was new (if you actually bought the levels legitimately here available you needed to buy the walmart release for an extra promo level, 2 sets of card packs which were like 15 dollars each if I remember correct and an e-reader (about 40 bucks) an extra gba (at least 50 or 60 at the time) and you only got 12 levels, less then a 3rd of what japan got (poor europe got none)

I have 4 levels left to beat. Great job! All e-card levels working so far. Thanks for the effort.
| Totally Worth This | supersonicjc | 2016-01-28 | Version 1.0 |
This is amazing and totally worth it to get this patch, gives you all the levels that were made on the failed e-Reader card system, not only that but gives you the levels that weren't even released outside of Japan, works wonderful on the homebrew emu on Wii, props to the big N for releasing this and the hackers on making this patch, wish game developers would stop making what is basically DLC in an obscure format making it hard to get unless you have the correct tools to get the unlocks.
| Fantastic | LameNobody | 2016-01-27 | Version 1.0 |
So much better than having to add all of the E-Cards manually to one's save file
| Double thumbs up! | Bonkers! | 2016-01-25 | Version 1.0 |
Wowzers! Fantastic work! You'll need to set saves to flash 128k if you're using an emulator to play the game, otherwise you'll be stuck on a screen telling ya that your save data is corrupted. Nothing to do with the hack; it shows that message normally with most (maybe all) of the SMA4 roms (just saying in case anybody hasn't played any of 'em).

Previously, the e-Reader levels were available via a hacked save file or save state. However, those were limited to 32 saved stage slots. This is a much better option. Now there are 38 levels, which comprise the five classic levels and an additional promotional level that was previously released. For the first time, you can finally have every e-Reader level available on a single game. Definitely apply this patch!

After so many years of playing Super Mario Advance 4 - Super Mario Bros. 3, and never played the original e-Reader levels (even though you could've gotten all of the levels through cheating, I think), the wonderful romhackers finally managed to hardcode literally all of the 38 e-Reader levels, just so they could include it in the Super Mario Advance 4 - Super Mario Bros. 3 game. Just goes to show you that any kind of in-game content included in physical devices (e-Reader cards, amiibos, amiibo cards, etc.) is not always a good idea. If you want people to unlock these kinds of contents, at least let them unlock it in the most traditional way possible: by completing special challenges, tasks, or quests in the game.
