Hack description

Mega Man 1 Nes - Graphical Redux by Amaweks.

An extensive graphical hack that makes the stages graphically more colorful, less mono-tones, and change the "anime" pixel art style sprites to a shaded type.

Changes:
- Almost all the tiles and sprites have been redesigned in new pixel art style (from "anime" stile to a shaded style).
- Almost all the color palettes were changed to pair with the new pixel art style, to make the stages more colorful and harmonious.
- Where there was space was added new graphics in stages (clouds, fences, pipes, etc), with the aim of making them more detailed and colorful.

Every great NES game should have a hack like thisvassago2022-06-25Version 1.0.0

This is basically a remastered version of Mega Man 1 without needing a console upgrade, everything is done using the NES's pallete itself but using it to it's max capacity. It's really awesome. If you think about it, now that we have emulators running on modern computers, every great NES classic such as Castlevania, Duck Tales and others could potentially receive this kind of treatment, using everything the NES has to offer in terms of graphics without worrying too much about the original console's limitations. I know this requires a lot of work and very few people would be able to do it, I'm just saying that would be really cool.

One of the most beautiful hacks I've ever played.SimplyDanny2019-03-10Version 1.0.0

This is easily one of, if not, the best aesthetic Mega Man ROM hack out there. The art style is so vibrantly colorful, and it fits Mega Man surprisingly well. It's also very consistent when it comes to its art style, which the lack thereof is what usually hinder these kinds of ROM hacks, but here, everything looks nice and crisp. The best part is how it's more than just updating the graphics: chock full of nuances and details are added to make the whole thing look much more lively, like clouds up in the skies of Cutman's stage, or the pipes running abound in Fireman's stage, or the scaffolding in Gutsman's stage. There's so much more detail in this ROM hack that I simply cannot list. I 100% recommend this hack. I'd definitely like to see some possibly similar treatment to the later installments, and I can't express how great the graphical work is here. Just play it.

I absolutely love the new visual style here; I've never seen anything quite like it. The pickaxe-throwing enemies in Guts Man's stage look a little cheap due to the limited palette, and the select screen is a bit too busy, but everything else is drop dead gorgeous. I would be thrilled to see Mega Man 2-6 Redux, as well!

Interesting look!buttcher872016-02-18Version 1.0.0

I only scratched the surface on this one but I like most of the graphical differences I see, especially some of the shading and background additions. One change I didn't care for was the robot selection screen. It just seemed like a mess with all the little dot effect images. Otherwise, I would give it a thumbs up in what I've seen so far. The original was kind of drab and this hack certainly spruces it up a bit.
