Hack description

Zelda jumped from 2D sprites to 3D worlds in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, released in 1998 for the Nintendo 64 console with much fanfare and critical acclaim. It has since been ported to the GameCube, Wii, Wii U and 3DS, but the original N64 version remains at the top of many "best games of all time" lists.

Like the other games in the Zelda series, the in-game text of Ocarina of Time refers to the player (Link) as male even after allowing the player to input their own name into the game. This gender-neutral hack replaces all of the male pronouns with gender-neutral language wherever it refers to Link (the player).

majora's mask when? c:Lufvave2021-09-29Version 1.0

Just like the other gender neutral patches, this is just excellent

Shame the author is propably not going to make a Majora's Mask version, because that would be amazing

Really awesome for roleplayersAspiringCreator2020-08-13Version 1.0

One element of the Zelda franchise I always found strange was how the whole idea behind the character of Link was that he represented the "link" between the player and the game... and yet in each game they forgot this more and more despite having naming systems in place so that people could feasibly roleplay. This in my opinion makes it excellent for those who want to engage in that aspect because without it? Well if we're to treat this game as being about Link then really you get a plank of wood as your main protagonist so to be able to more settle into putting yourself in those shoes is welcome. It's not necessarily a required hack of course but hey, it's one that makes the game more inclusive and overall it doesn't affect the gameplay in a painful way so if anything this is welcome.
