Great Hack and...IAmCaptPlanet2017-11-15Version 1.0

It IS compatible with the other 2 hacks (GBA mode and GBC colors) and those 3 hacks together makes this the hands-down best version of Ages.

I was kinda bummed Seasons didn't have a VWF hack at first, but to be honest Ages is the one that really needed it. It has much more dialogue and what is there, is beautiful. Much more appealing (although not as big of an improvement as the Link's Awakening VWF hack, because at least the Oracle games didn't use italics for EVERYTHING).

A minor (very minor) nitpick though, the lower case U seems a little closed of at the top and slightly resembles an A. After you get used to that though, it looks much more palatable on a TV screen than the HUGE letters did before.

Also: I think it's important to note, that this hack, does not interfere in any way with the Linked game continue system. I played Seasons first (so I wouldn't be spoiled with the VWF on my first game, and not have it for the next) and used the Password continue system to continue my story into Ages.

I could argue that Seasons is a (slightly) better game (IMO), but I can say for sure, that Ages benefits more from having this nice font.

If you haven't replayed Ages in a while you should be downloading this right now, but even if you are an Oracle series aficionado you owe it to yourself to play it this way.

  • -EDIT—

thousands of apologies! hear this good friends!! the lower case u in the Link's Awakening VWF hack is a little closed off and looks a little odd. THIS ONE LOOKS FINE- ABSOLUTELY fine in fact. sorry for the mix-up. this hack is a True Perfect 10

Awesome but...eternalsage2017-11-09Version 1.0

Needs to be made compatible with the Force GBA mode and GBA palette fixes. Then it would be the ultimate version. However, If you are not interested in those, this is an ESSENTIAL hack. It really is essential regardless, which is why I would like them to be compatible.

EDIT: I think the compatibility issue has something to do with the xdelta format, or more specifically the different levels of specification compliance with the patch programs. I don't have a Windows machine to test this on atm, but under Linux the patches will not work together.

Absolutely essentialChiffon2017-03-22Version 1.0

Oracle of Ages is a great game, but one thing I always had issue with was the font used; being fixed-width, the characters were too big in text boxes that don't have much space to begin with, and just didn't look very good in the first place.

This hack fixes all of that beautifully! Not only is the new font much more aesthetically pleasant, it most importantly takes up less space and is more readable, improving the play experience considerably.

If you're playing Oracle of Ages, you have no reason to not use this hack.
