After 2 New Year's hacks for the original Megaman series, Puresabe has transitioned to the same style of hack with Megaman X, and for his first one, this is really good! This hack consists of a single boss fight against a supped up Spark Mandrill (year of the Monkey) with plenty of attack patterns. He also has a "desperation attack" he will start using once he gets to half health. Honestly compared to some of his other New Year's hack, this boss fight is pretty tame and should only take a few attempts for any Megaman X veteran to beat. Still, it's a lot of fun while it lasts! | |||

The featured boss is certainly hard, and certainly different. But there's only the one, so saying it's a boss rush is a bit misleading. I'd still recommend playing this, though! The patch requires an unheadered rom, so watch out for that. | |||
