Hack description

Now updated to the bugfixed version 1.4

This hack is of Rockman J NES. It started out as nothing serious, but it soon grew into what it is today. Thanks to the help of a good friend named Glyph, it also features an ASM hack that makes it stand apart from other Mega Man hacks. You will see it when you play. :)

There are two IPS patches included. You should know how to use them.

Thank you all for taking the time to play my hack.

Comments: I'm not entirely sure who the target audience is for Byte's Adventure. It's a fairly cute hack that does its best to make each stage feel thematically different from one another, though you can expect the same stage layout and assortment of enemies. Byte's Adventure opts for a more laid back experience than its parent title, getting rid of a bunch of bottomless pits and handing the player NINE lives to best its stages with... which makes it all the more strange that the robot masters (and weapons) haven't been touched—if you're making an easier hack, why not tone down Elec Man and Ice Man's damage? Even weirder is that Wily stages 1-3 have been axed (along with the two boss rushes), making the hack feel short even by MM1 standards. Byte's Adventure is a bite-sized little romp that's not too bad, but after finishing it you'll be left with the nagging feeling that more could've been done.

Good and easyLSM2022-03-03Version 1.4

Well, first of all, it's different from most full-level Mega Man 1 hacks. A full-level Mega Man 1 hack has 4 Wily stages. But Byte's Adventure is not. They reduce the Wily stages. I mention it because fewer stages are suited for casual players. You don't need to beat Yellow Devil, Copy Robot, and CWU-01P. The graphic is changed. Also, the level design is good. It's easy and close to the original difficulty. You don't need any special weapons to pass a stage. It's fun and worth playing. If you worry about can't find a good Mega Man 1 hack play. I think it's the best for you.

Byte's Adventure (rockman 1 hack) - short, but well madediablo6662022-01-08Version 1.4

To be honest, I expected more. However, the rule applies here: "Less is better - but qualitatively." And the rule completely works. The graphic part is well done AT ALL levels. I'm even somewhat surprised that Mega Man was introduced into these locations so neatly and interestingly.

And, surprisingly, the final stage little scared me slightly - unusual faces and inscriptions

If you are lооking for something simple, short and interesting - you have come to the right place. THIS HACK IS EXACTLY LIKE THAT! And I Recommend You To Familiarize Yourself With It and Try It Out Yourself!

They removed Yellow DevilActionHenk2019-11-18Version 1.4

I have a love-hate relationship with Yellow Devil (the first boss in Wily's Castle). It's kind of cool to see a Mega Man 1 hack without Yellow Devil.

This hack is 75% sprite hack, 25% new game.

You won't need to use the special item, except in one instance to collect extra health pickups. You can get it, but it's not used in this hack.

More than once, while playing this hack I was thinking to myself they've played Mega Man 1 a lot.

Wily's Castle is only one stage long.
