This game really does look better than the original, and the addition of beer penguins is great. The creator, however, could go one step further and just replace Wario's sprites from Wario Land 3 instead. Other than that, check it out.

Overall it looks great, unfortunately whenever there's a black background you can't see well Wario.

Even a gray/dark blue colored pants or an optional patch where its pants aren't changed would make this a definite recommendation

The hack is going in a good direction, but in its current state I wouldn't recommend it.

The sprites and palette of Wario is what bugs me the most: They're an in-between of the WL2 and WL3 sprites (mostly WL2 with minor edits). But instead of using the WL3 palette and edit just a few parts of the WL2 sprite (like the eye) why doesn't the hack creator replace the entire sprites with the WL3 ones? They're more polished. The front facing sprite is the WL2 one but with the WL3 hat and a line that separates gloves and arms. I get that it wasn't completely replaced because the front facing animations are different from the ones of WL3 but it still feels inconsistent to me.

Also, the new palette from WL3 makes half the body of Wario disappear when in pitch black places (the GBC WL2 palette of Wario had a dark blue-ish color that was slighty more visible in these areas).

Also the GB side of the ROM gets corrupted if you apply this patch, making it unplayable. Though, most people get the GBC version exactly because it has colors anyway so I doubt they'd play with the GB side.

In the mid-80's to Late 90's, Nintendo of America's policies we're misunderstood. They were naive about religious references, death, references to being drunk, and other content that is not rated M than they think. They didn't know about family-friendly back then and I'm sure they are easy about it by now. I know that beer is more for adults but it is funny to see the penguin get drunk bringing back the uncensored Japanese version in this hack. You really fixed Nintendo of America's policies that they did not understand back then. Thank you for taking the time to make this hack. You've done a nice job!
