Hack description

This hack makes it where you can load your game at any save spots. This is for people who are lazy with pressing the reset command on the controller or pressing reset on the console. You can use this for a base for your own hack, but please give me credit.

This hack should be able to work on the real SNES system.

Please read the readme for more information.

If you find the bug, look in the readme for contact information. Enjoy.

This hack was made in Temporal Flux 2.55. No ASM hacking was used in this hack.

Oh dear...how uselessobscurumlux012015-09-14Version 1.0

Really hate to break it to the author of this patch but this is fairly useless.

The default non-patched vanilla Chrono Trigger ROM has the 'Square(soft) Reset' built-in.

Most famously known in FF7 but it also works on other Square games on the SNES.

On SNES you do the following:

  • Press and hold L+R
  • Then press and hold Select + Start

On PS1 version you do the following:

  • Press and Hold L1+L2+R1+R2
  • Then press and hold Select + Start

This will instantly reset the game; doesn't matter whether you're on an emulator or playing with an actual console.

I suppose if you are playing on an emulator with a keyboard (WHY!?) instead of a gamepad then you would have to do a special keybind for one-push 'Square(soft) Reset'.
