Well i grabbed this to test and well dissapointed at this,it looks too bright using emulators and using a console the results are mehh!! I compared this to the arcade version and well the default game looks quite similar to the arcade so the only improvement would be the sound part
| Amazing very good | mikael43 | 2018-10-05 | Version 2.0 |
A big thank you to Lord Ryu for this hack, it's a job of great qualities this version hyper champion edition has greatly improve the old hack champion edition arcade. This hack is a reconstruction of the arcade on the technical scale of megadrive console / genesis. I think the next step will be more restoring the missing animation the scrolling moon, cloud, the cage going down, animation of the spectators of the cabin blanka stage. The megadrive will be able but it's really a story of pure programming will come back almost to reprogram the game. Thank you again for this fantastic job.
| Here comes a new challenger! | star_scream1646 | 2018-10-03 | Version 2.0 |
The level of work and detail that Lord Hiryu has done shines the moment you see the iconic intro scene, which has now been restored to look more like the arcade original. Stages like Guile's stage now look more alive thanks to the much needed airfield replacing the barren background and that new sky looks great! Vega's stage now has the missing guitar players back, as well as the cage support beam. The sky in Ken's stage now looks more like the arcade original, even the camera guy in Blanka's stage has his camera bag again. I would go on with the changes made, but the best way to see them is by playing this hack you will not be disappointed!
| Fantastic! | Byros | 2017-11-25 | Version 1.0 |
I tried Lord Hiryu's ROM hack which is phenomenal, first on an emulator and now on real Genesis hardware using everdrive-md V2 and SEGA's own magnificent 6 button pad, combined with Stephane Dallongeville's audio driver patch which fixes the sabotaged & garbled Capcom audio driver, this is how this ROM becomes the best Champion Edition by far. The color choices that Lord Hiryu uses restore the stages to a much better color quality level, and are truly remarkable take a look at Ryu's stage and the difference is dramatic vs it's original form in the Genesis port. These hacks also prove what has already been said by others, that Capcom internally sabotaged the Genesis/Mega Drive ports of Street Fighter to make the SEGA hardware appear inferior, when in fact it was much more capable.
| Amazing!!! | WildWolf21 | 2016-11-23 | Version 1.0 |
With this hack, it really shows what the Genesis was capable of as far as porting games to the system, and is an easy recommendation for those who grew up with the game as kids. This patch is also compatible with the PCM fix as well, but you'll need to run the patched rom through the CheckSumFizber before booting it up for the first time, or else it won't work. Now, if only the author of this patch could do the same thing with Super Street Fighter 2 on the Genesis.....
