There's no getting around the fact that Double Dragon III is a ridiculously hard game, and it's one that severely punishes you for not having pixel-perfect execution, so it's a game that clearly needs rebalancing to bring the difficulty more in line with what a Normal Mode should feel like. That being said, this hack feels like someone went nuts with their Game Genie. Having Jimmy available from the start already gives you a significant advantage, but cranking every character's health to 255 and maxing out their weapon charges to 99 allowed me to just plow through every level without resistance. Everything can be Nunchucked or Iron-Clawed to smithereens, with no concern for damage intake. At that point, there's no challenge left, which is fine for people who just want to experience the game from start to finish, but it's a one-off experience that becomes uninteresting after a single run. Keeping Jimmy available, increasing each character's health by only 10 units or so, and increasing weapon charges by a few smidges would probably be enough to bring the difficulty down to a manageable state. Otherwise, while I absolutely commend Zeikar for making the effort to make it less punishing, I feel that the changes here do more harm than good. For that reason, I can't say that I'm a fan of this particular hack.

Great effort, I wanted to say first and foremost that I played through the hack last night and enjoyed it. Bought Double Dragon 3 with my own money as a kid coming off of Double Dragon 2 and hated it so much because the difficulty was stacked so highly against you. Usually when I played it I barely made it past the first stage and the furthest I ever got was the stage after you get Chin, by that point because the game didn't replenish your life you're usually so beat down that you might as well just turn the system off without even attempting the stage. So it was quite nice to actually see the game through to the end, however the game now has the opposite problem that it originally had. There is ZERO challenge. I plowed through the entire thing with no effort. I was hoping for a difficulty akin to Double Dragon 1 or 2 when I downloaded this. I just think you went overboard stacking the game in the player's advantage. I think in addition to making the attacks stronger and the enemies weaker that boosting all the life stats to 255 as well was severe overkill. Having all the weapons have 99 uses just led to me cheesing the entire game with nunchucks with zero consequence. And with the extra brother in addition to the 3 other characters, you end up with four gigantic 255 life bars and you're pretty much invincible. Unless you fall down a pitfall there is NO challenge. I think you added unlimited continues too, I do really appreciate that, keep that. I appreciate all the work you did fixing the Bimmy thing, adding the extra brother, and just overall making the game better and more accessible in general. It IS still an improvement, don't get me wrong... Just needs tweaking to make it less of a cakewalk. That's all. Thanks for hearing me out.
