Hack description

Unlike the other palette hacks for GBA games, where hackers had to put in the time and dedication to restore the original SNES palettes, Super Mario Bros. 3 actually already includes the original palette, which is enabled when playing on a Game Boy Player. This hack simply forces the GBP palette to be used at all times.

Note: This hack has been superseded by djedditt's superior version: https://retrohackers.net/hack-details.php?id=6227/

Works as intended, patches the game in GB Player modeemuman1002020-01-11Version 1.02

Works on all regions of the Wii U VC version too. As as consequence of the game being patched to the GB Player palette, if you go into the options, there will be an option to turn the rumble feature on or off, because that option was only used with the GB Player and GC controller.

Really nice!Polar-Star2017-05-24Version 1.02

I love how I can play all of the Advance series with the original colors now, and this one completes it.

"Woohoo! Just what I needed!"RealGaea2017-02-20Version 1.02

I highly recommend this patch, if you (like me) are fans of the SNES colors.

Finally, the SMA Tetralogy in its full coloured glory!ShadowOne3332017-02-13Version 1.0

At long last, all four Super Mario Advance games now have proper colour restorations!

Who could have thought the game had the original palette in there already? It never crossed my mind when I thought about such restoration.

Vague Rant did an amazing job at finding that out, and now, thanks to him, we can enjoy all four SMA games without washed out colors!

If you want a much more faithful experience to All-Stars, combine this patch with the Voice Removal patch by mangaman3000, you won't regret it, and it's also compatible with the All 38 e-Reader Levels hack!

Thanks for this work!
