This hack is super fun!

This hack certainly seems like a valid port of Macross to the NES.

This hack is your basic side-scroller shooter and it's fast paced! You get to change your ship into three modes - a slow moving plane ship, a medium speed converted ship or the fastest moving robot form that can also turn around and shoot backwards. (The relative speeds are all inversed - the robot form moves fastest around the screen but slowest through the level, the plane moves fastest through the level but slowest around the screen.) I usually just play with the medium speed - medium ship. It moves fast enough to dodge most enemies and shots effectively.

To change the form of your ship you have to press Up+A or Back(left)+A or Front(right)+A in case you didn't know. I just press Up+A and use that the whole time but you can change it any time you want. But be careful! Changing your form too much will get you into trouble with the fast moving enemies!

Level 1 and level 2 are pretty easy. Level 3 introduces a few obstacles (stars or lights on the screen) and an additional mecha enemy character that fires a volley of missiles at you - you can really get hurt by this guy's missiles if a lot of them hit you.

Then you can pick up a few power-ups - one gives you more health energy and one gives you more missile launches.

One of the fun things about the gameplay is you can shoot the missiles too but one thing that is a tiny bit annoying is the Select key is used to fire the missiles - it's not exactly easy in a game that moves as fast as this one.

A few drawbacks to this game are that the music isn't very good and the graphics aren't great either but the gameplay makes up for this.

Play the game up to at least level 3 to see what I mean - it will keep you on your toes!

Thanks to S. K. Dumbbus for making this hack. I think it's really fun!
