Hack description

This hack changes and fixes a bunch of things, to make it more like its arcade counterpart.

Here's what it does to it so far:
-Changes most of the colors, to make it look more like its arcade counterpart.
-Changes Rolento's sprites, to the ones from Final Fight 2.
-Changes Jessica's TV sprite, to look more like her uncensored arcade counterpart.
-Changes Jessica's sprite in the Stage 1 intro, to look more like her SNES counterpart.
-Gives Slash his afro hair, to look more like his arcade counterpart.
-Fixes the graphic where Damnd is now holding Jessica in the intro of stage 1.
-Fixes the graphic on both basement entrances in stage 1.
-Fixes the stem of the bar sign in stage 3.
-Restores all the missing animated background frames in stage 3.
-Gives the first part of stage 4 its correct music track.
-Makes the second bonus stage appear after stage 4, instead of stage 5.
-Replaces Dug with Bred in the first bonus stage, to make it more like its arcade counterpart.
-Restores the missing crowd that were suppose to appear in the last part of stage 3.
-Changes the character select screen of the Alpha characters, to the one from the international versions.
-Restores the original arcade behavior of the every 200,000 points system, now you'll get your first extra life at 100,000 and you'll get another one at 300,000.
-Pitches down all the music tracks and sound samples, to make them sound more like the ones from the arcade version.
-Translates all text to English.

Reviews

The Redux version has everythingSuperStarFox2022-10-31Version 3.0

Everything has been fully restored, improved, changed, and now feels exactly like the original Final Fight arcade game. I played the entire game for almost two hours and already had an amazing time with the game. I didn't knew there was actually some additional music tracks in the Japanese version as well as having a different ending track. But it doesn't stop me from enjoying this Redux hack making it feel exactly how Capcom developed the original game.

A couple suggestions though:

1. Add an English version of the game with all the content used in this hack.

2. Make Haggar in the opening say "You son of a-!" instead of "You fiend!"

3. The subway theme in the second level sounds almost like the SNES version, maybe compare it with the arcade version first and try to pitch it up or down a little more until it sounds just about right?

A great hack but wih ugly portraits1HomoErectus12022-07-21Version 2.9

All the changes and fixes of this hack are very good and advanced. All but one. I cannot stand these ugly faces that the creator for some reason brought into the hack from the American release of the game. When Choosing to play the game with fixes but with disgusting non-original portraits or play the original Japanese version but without fixes, I choose the latter.

On the right track.Djota2022-06-08Version 2.8

All the complaints I have with the 2.4 of this hack are gone, 2.8 improves everything and makes the experience even better (even though yellow Guy is still bizarre for me). So I highly recommend downloading this version and patching your game with it because you get a better experience than the arcade version with all the extra content this version offers. And the improvements of the hack make better optimized than the vanilla version.

*sees broken car* "OH, MY GOD!!"RealGaea2017-06-24Version 1.1

Well, what can I say? The experience is much more closer to the arcades, so I recommend this patch. Needs a few tweaks, like Rolento's sprite re-sizing and the " every 200k" life extensions.

What are you waiting for? Go and save Jessica from the clutches of Mad Gear!
