I play tons of hacks and watch videos of even more week after week, and I still found this to be packed full of very fresh ideas, even though it's only 4 worlds! This doesn't change much in the way of the tilesets, but the way that everything is put together is so interesting. When I first began and got knocked into the water with those annoying hidden blocks, I thought, "Oh boy... here we go..." Once I got to 1-2, I was already completely enamored. There are so many old elements that are used in new ways, like platforms with different behavior from what you'd expect, climbable ropes that don't lead to the sky, and even warp zones inside of castles! The aesthetic was impressive, too, going from an underwater paradise with silver coral to a hellish, withered nightscape, and that's just in the first world! Even the ultimate power-up is a little off-the-wall: a Luigi Suit! Definitely give this one a try!

To me, this is what a good rom hack of Super Mario Bros should be. Sticks fairly close to the difficulty level of the original game. While I'm not usually a fan of changing the base game's graphics, these are done well, and don't distract from the gameplay. Overall, a really fun set of levels that won't have you throwing down your controller in a fit of rage like so many other hacks. My only complaint is that there aren't more levels! Make some more szemigi! Also, in response to Teeporage777's review, there are 4 worlds. Remember you can press B to select which world you start on after you beat Bowser.

Okay, I really enjoyed playing this hack. The good is how original it felt. It really felt like a sequel and I also liked the semi changed graphics that were not over done. The game had a old school feel that took me back to being a kid again. I really liked the blue koopas as well as the blue piranha plants. Sadly it was too short. only three worlds. I was rather disappointed by this as it was a fun hack to play. Also on the 2-4 castle, the warp pipe took me back to the start of the level several times before I decided to just die and see if that would fix the problem which it did, then finally warped me to world 4. Another problem I had was the underwater coins left the blue block when retrieved because they were not edited correctly in a tile editor which is a simple fix. The difficulty was perfect. Not too hard and not too easy. A very cool hack that was too short but had the potential to be amazing. Still, I think you should give it a play through and have some fun. I sure did. Good job on this hack.
