| Robot Fantasy Legend 2: The Hard One | Josephine Lithius | 2024-04-19 | Version v6-000A |
Here's a short story about my experience with this ROM hack. I left picked two humans and two mutants. I left town and found a group of Lizard. My attacks did 1 or 2 damage. I died. I restarted and picked a Robot, a Monitor, a Snapper, and an Imp. I left town and found a group of Lizards. My Imp was literally useless, and my Monitor and Snapper did minimal damage. My Robot, however, utterly swept the Lizards. The moral of the story? Make a party of Robots if you want to play this hack. It probably won't work on the long run, since the Colt pistol will eventually run out of ammo, but at least you can get out of the first area. Probably. Of course, once Mr. S (the teacher) leaves the party, the player is pretty much done for. Better hope RNG is in your favor so you don't get encounter-after-encounter. That aside, the hack is buggy with graphical glitches popping up here and there, and the "long names" thing is buggy and doesn't work like one might expect: it uses letter pairs to achieve the effect rather than allowing for "longer names". All that said, I do not recommend this hack.
| Am I being pranked? | GhostofStarman | 2024-04-17 | Version v6-000A |
I actually only briefly played the original FFL2 vanilla version a long time ago. More recently I played and beat the DS version. I decided to give this one another shot and came here to see if I could play it with some quality of life improvements, tweaks, etc. This hack is a complete joke. As soon as I leave the first town, I get into a battle with several Lizards. Each of my characters has a little over 30 HP. Each Lizard deals about that with each attack. So all four of my characters are dead after the first battle, minus my overpowered guest member (who had to use his drain attack because for whatever reason, Lizards are immune to his group-targeting fire spell.) I went back to town, healed up, and tried again thinking I must have just imagined what happened. The next battle is with Ravens. They attack me with Thunder and Poison attacks, dealing over 150 damage. I promptly shut off the game. So...what's the punchline? What am I missing? This can't be a real hack.
