Hack description

This hack restores all the content that got cut from the American version of this game back to it, it also fixes the game's script and changes the ending to be more like the one from the Japanese version, changes the MM7 logos to look more like their Japanese counterparts and adds a feature where you can skip cutscenes by pressing the "Start" button as well.

Also added a alternate patch that has the shorter charge time and the increased invulnerability from Josephine Lithius's Refit hack, made it because of compatibility issues between both hacks.

I created an Help Wanted Ad for this hack, because there were stuff I couldn't do, you can check it out here to see what I need help on: https://www.romhacking.net/forum/index.php?topic=36860.0

Very great hack! Playable and enjoyable. But the slowdowns must to be reduced or removedDarker Falcon2022-11-28Version Final

I really enjoy the original Japanese version of this game. Now with this hack, i can play the US version with all Japanese features that were cut from the US original. Also with the alternate patch (that have short time buster charge and longer invincibility after gettin' hit, taken from Mega Man7 refit) makes this hack very neat to play. One thing that must be done, is remove or reduce all the slowdowns present in the game and Rush has to be invincible like all previous 6 games. If this changements can be done. We'll have the definitive version of this game.

Not entirely truthfulOrangeCrush6662021-06-23Version Final

The claim is that it is compatible with the "Refit" patch that would make this an ideal patch. Unfortunately it is not compatible with the latest title change. It is an illegible pixilated mess that might have other glitches throughout the game. If fixed with a future patch I would recommend but until then for those looking to double up with both patches, I simply say just the one.

Dr... Willyy?Thirteen 13552019-09-13Version Final

When I first tested this patch, I had combined it with the Refit patch, which is listed as being compatible with this one. However, combining the two does cause some issues. The first one I noticed was in the first cutscene, where Dr. Wily is named Dr. Willyy. This probably has to do with the new font Refit introduces, as the two l's and y's are written in different fonts.

Besides this, the Restoration patch in itself provides a good slew of cut content from the original. Nothing game changing but certainly appealing.

Almost PerfectHeaven Piercing Man2018-03-02Version Final

The definitive way this game should be played, especially for fixing the dialogue at the end of the game, which gave Megaman a completely wrong characterization and confused the fanbase for a long time, to this day. And you get to see everything as the Japanese players did back in the nineties.

The only thing it needs is a Japanese-style title screen (saying "Megaman 7 Showdown of Destiny!"), just like the ones we started getting from Megaman 8 and on. Then it would be the ultimate hack.

Subtle but superiorRafaelele2017-08-15Version Final

Skipping that long barrage of text boxes in the intro and intermissions is the highlight of this hack. Much more accessible to people revisting, or who just want to start playing.

The cutscenes after beating each robot master are no longer awkward and one dimensional.

Overall removes the flaws from a seemingly flawless game.

9/10 Faithful yet definitive
