Breath of Fire for GBA is superior to the original SNES version in a plethora of facets-quicksave, revised character portraits, four new anime-style cutscene stills, auto-dash, auto-item sort, the ability to buy any consumable item in bulk at any shop, item trading via link cable, and easier to mod.

Its biggest problems? Much brighter, washed-out colors, and a poorly-ported soundtrack.

This fixes the latter issue spectacularly. The compression and popping are minimal, and the music doesn't sound "flat" either. With this mod, the soundtrack is as close to the SNES original as possible. As the cherry on top, the bug for trading items that v1.0 introduced has been corrected.

Heavily recommended to anyone playing Breath of Fire for GBA.

The Gameboy Advance re-release butchered the sound effects and soundtrack of this game completely. This hack restores the sound to it's former glory and it's highly necessary. I wouldn't play the Gameboy Advance version of Breath of Fire 1 without this hack.

I used this hack alongside ThegreatBen's Breath of Fire Improved, Vivify93's Name Reverter and Text Clean Up which is included within ThegreatBen's Improvement Hack. (I patched Sound Restoration, then Name Reverter, then Improved)

Expect nothing but quality from Bregalad. Take this patch, Text Cleanup, and Color Restoration, and you have something better than the SNES version is currently sitting at.
