Hack description

FF2Turbo is a gameplay hack of Final Fantasy II (SNES) that aims to minimize the time spent waiting between gameplay-relevant interactions, while leaving the original game's core gameplay intact. Specifically:

- Mandatory cutscenes and gameplay-relevant optional events (eg. Odin) are cut down almost entirely, to their barest essential changes. (Gameplay-irrelevant events, such as dancers, are left intact.)

- The player dashes on the map by default (hold Y to walk).

- New games default to battle speed 1 and battle message speed 1.

- Menu animations are sped up.

- Battles play out at normal speed but most in-battle event messages have been removed.

- Various other animations (mostly vehicles) have been shortened.

Credit goes to Myself086 for coding the dash and fast menu patches, Pinkpuff
for ff4kster references, and Crow for additional hacking research.

The perfect speedplay FF IV! :)Scottdj232018-05-04Version 0.1

This is the perfect rom hack for those who enjoy Final Fantasy IV gameplay. The removal of tedious slow walking is the biggest bonus! The lack of lag while using menus is a close second. The annoying phrase, 'Kain! Jump!' is no longer repeated constantly during a certain battle.

Minimizing pesky dialogue and up to seven minute long cut scenes makes this especially enjoyable for speedy game players.

If this Turbo mod appeals to you at all, then check out B0ardface's other projects!
