| I was surprised. It makes the game fit the franchise. | PowerPanda | 2022-07-22 | Version 1.0 |
I downloaded this immediately upon its release, as the English voice clips were ear-gratingly awful. I didn't do a full playthrough until now though, and I have to say that I was surprised. I didn't realize just how much the incessant bad voice acting was pulling me out of the experience of ZXA. With this patch, the game is allowed to shine, and it shines brightly. EDIT: Having now finished the entire game, I'm appreciating this patch even more. I am the type of person that, when I buy a trilogy of books, I have to have the covers match. It is important to me that when things come out as part of a series, that they all fit together as a cohesive whole. For all of the Zero games and the first ZX, we had Japanese voices for the "sound effects" in-game, and no voices anywhere else. ZXA felt like a different series, because it didn't follow the same pattern with its voices. Subconconsciously, it felt like the game didn't fit in the series. Now, with this patch, it fits. Well done, Windywalk!

The English voices in my opinion made the game overall somewhat less enjoyable as I'm more used to the silence in the Zero games and the first ZX. This patch did to the game what Capcom did to ZX originally, so dialogue and stuff are silent but FMVs still have voices, only now they're in Japanese much like ZX as I said.

The grating English voices really hurt the experience. This patch does exactly what it's supposed to do, and that's awesome.
