Bah, grinding isn't challenge, it's just there to make RPGs longer, this hack lessens the grinding for a remake that already lessened the grinding. To me, that's good, the less the grinding the better.

While I understand that part of the appeal of this game is the level progression, this hack allows for a much more pleasant playthrough, in my opinion. The SNES version of these games aren't particularly grind-heavy when compared to the originals, but still, if you don't like grinding or just don't want to waste your time, go for it. I personally recommend it.

With the author's recent double xp / gold hacks for Dragon Warrior I and II, those weren't my cup of tea but I could understand their appeal. Dragon Quest games are notorious for their grindiness, especially the second one. In the case of Dragon Quest I & II for Super Famicom, the earning rates were already more or less doubled the original release. Having played through it, I found the game a little too easy, lacking that satisfaction of slow and steady accomplishment that the originals provided. The very idea of again doubling the earning rates with this hack is a little absurd because that translates to approximately 4 times the rates of the originals. There are *so* many things that need to be accomplished hacking wise with the original Dragon Quest games in English. For instance, DQ2 within this game is a buggy and nearly unplayable mess with the best available fan translation. Practically every other classic rpg has decensoring hacks but the original Dragon Warrior games do not. I'd even be happy with a title screen fix so they simply say Dragon Quest and display those beautiful Japanese logos. I can't be the only one waiting for this stuff.
