So basically, the Super Mario All Stars + SMW Luigi sprites are absolutely ugly, so here's a hack that ports the better looking Super Mario Advance 2: SMW sprites to the game. The sprites are sadly not entirely accurate to the original game due to the fact that Luigi's original scuttle jump animation seems to not be possible, and the fact that the designers of the SMA+SMW Luigi sprites were to lazy to make more tiles for Luigi and instead made Luigi share sprite tiles for certain sprites (for example one certain frame of the cape flying animation). Even with those problems, this mod will still look a million times better than the skinny mustached, stretched out Luigi ever did.Screenshots

The original Luigi in Super Mario World (All-Stars version) comes off as a parody of every misconception we had of Mario. He hits blocks with his head. He spits fire. It's a very strange sprite. Finally we have a hack that (mostly) corrects the errors of that version. Granted, there are some minor glitches. For example, check out Luigi's blush sprite when the princess kisses him. And there's the one frame of cape flying that is mentioned in the hack notes. Maybe someone can zap these issues in a future addendum. In the meantime, don't let these problems discourage you from trying it out. You can even mix it up with other hacks of this collection, like BMF54123's Brick Fix hack, ShadowOne333's redux hack, and DarkSamus993's title screen hack. | |||

This brings one step closer to the ideal SMAS+SMW romhack. If only anyone can put gloves to the Mario Bros. in SMB3, like they did in SMA4. Nice hack, I don't care about that pixel bug. Download this! | |||
