Hack description

Final Fantasy III was the first game to introduce a Job System that allowed the player to change characters' jobs at any point during the game. It brought us series standards such as the Dragoon, Summoner, and Geomancer. As the first try at a Job System it's not bad, but it could be better.

Final Fantasy III relies heavily on forcing certain encounters to "require" jobs. At one point in the early game you have to rely entirely on magic for two rather difficult segments. If you had spent your time trying out different job combinations only to find out you now have to change every one again, you may find that you've used up all your Capacity Points (CP) and you have to grind more before you can continue.

Well, no longer! The Job System should be about freeing the player to explore interesting combinations. Square got into the groove with later games in the series. This hack aims to bring Final Fantasy III more in line with later FF games.

This hack is intended to be used with the Jackson/Corlett/SoM2Freak fan translation. Other translations may work; check out the Readme.txt file for more details.

Does what it says...Howeverstar_scream16462018-10-25Version 2.1

I can only speak about the first patch included in the zip, that removes your equipment automatically. I never really had an issue grinding for CP in the game, so I did not apply the other two patches. The patch I did use does what it says and that is remove your equipment automatically when changing jobs. I would always forget to remove my equipment, so it would get annoying at times always seeing the "You must remove your equipment" message. So this is a great hack that removes an unnecessary step to change jobs.

However, I assume that since the author of this hack intended for the three patches to all be used together, that they removed the yes/no prompt to confirm that the player wants to change jobs. If someone were using the 3 patches combined, then they would not have to worry, since there is no CP to waste by mistake. If you only plan to use the first patch just make sure that you are changing to the job you want, otherwise you can end up wasting CP easily.

Would be great to see an alternative to the patch that removes equipment automatically that still has the yes/no prompt, but this just a small nitpick I noticed. Otherwise this is a must have hack if you want to change jobs in the game, without having to do so many steps to do so.
