MaternalBound is neat as a way to experience the game as originally intended alongside improvements, but there's things I like better about the original localization like Ness's pajamas in Magicant, I don't mind the cover up of the Coca-Cola truck, and the Pencil and Eraser statues are real goofy.

This mod manages to combine most of the uncensored dialogue from that hack to make it a true T rated game, names such as Threek, Grateful Dead Valley and the Sky Walker are in here, and the Runaway Five being Blues Brothers parodies is reimplemented.

And of course, the new sprites taken from the Enhanced hack really spice things up and even outright improve them in some cases without being so distracting. And the new controls, man... The face buttons are finally usable!

Overall, this hack manages to keep the spirit of the original US version, while keeping Itoi's vision intact, and I highly recommended playing this after your first playthrough of the original unaltered game!

I concur with MagicalFlyingD00d's review. While it is largely mainly a compilation of other existing quality hacks, it does the job well and cuts out any additional legwork on the player's behalf.

I hope to see a variant release for Mother 2 (instead of EarthBound), changing the title screen, logo, and text references. Just for consistency's sake. Mother EarthBound Mother 3... it has to be Mother 2!

This literally, without doubt, the best way to play EarthBound, when playing back the original it just felt a bit jarring to see the PSI and character names of the American version, (i.e. Porky Pokey, PK Special PSI Special), but this feels so much better with the updated and more accurate sprites such as the Starman Jr. to match how it appeared in EarthBound Beginnings. I 100% recommend this hack to anyone who's going to play EarthBound.
