Mega Man C4 - BADDobu_GM2024-03-05Version 1.0

Mega Man C4

Levels: Eh

Graphics: Okay (Occasionally Eh)

Music: No Change

Enemies: No Change (except for the slinkies?!)

Bosses: No Change

Weapons: No Change

Castle: BAD (unbeatable)

Difficulty: EASY-MEDIUM

Comments: C4 is a subpar hack with a decent color palette that cannot be completed due to the Cossack 1 boss floating off screen. Stages are barely changed from their original version, and when they are they often demand a more frequent use of Rush Coil or just straight up kill you if you don't have balloon. Some stages look neat at first (like Dust Man and Pharaoh Man's levels), but some of the backgrounds can be pretty ugly, clashing with the cooler color palette. But the worst part about C4 is its blatant bugginess, as it frequently freezes in random spots (just try to make it through Dive Man's stage). Even if it was beatable, C4 would still be an unsalvageable hack.

Buggy and unfinishedmegarobman2021-10-06Version 1.0

This game claims to have changed all the stages around, but not by much. Aesthetically, some of the changes are pleasant,Pharaoh the sand looks red and it's a nice change of appearance there, Mega Man's colors look different when he charges his buster and they actually make it easier to get the balloon, and for good reason, they make making it past the check point room require usage of balloon AND/or you gotta take damage to continue. This stage makes the rest of the hack seem promising if you are looking for a challenge, but this is the extent of the changes to this that are good. Ring mans stage's platforms are buggy and barely work, making that the only reason this is different or challenging. There's an invisible spike in Dive that is only occasionally there. Bright man has a section where you have to have balloon or use coil to get through the spikes grass hopper section and cheap enemy placement in the last section. Most of the rest of the stages just add a few platforms to jump over and maybe a pit or two but that's about it.

The most work that went into this game went into changing the drill bomb sprite AND the Slinky's in Cossack 1 move at like three times their normal speed. This game was obviously not play-tested or finished because the game soft locks you inside of the Cossack 1 boss fight because you literally can't beat that boss in time before it splits into the wall, removing the hitbox. And if you cheat and advance the game to go further than Cossack 1, you keep hitting parts that you can't make it past, making it 100% impossible to advance.

The worst part is that not only is it unfinished but it has 2 reviews on here that don't address the fact that you literally can't beat the Cossack 1 boss.

Please finish hacks before you review them, especially if you are going to recommend them! Thank you!

Not horribleClassicwolf2009-12-08-

It's pretty good, for a basic pallette and stage design hack. The game is not UNbeatable, though I am a little annoyed at one part in Frogman's stage; but the color pallette is actually well thought out, and easy on the eyes. It has a very fickle difficulty, which fits the design and it works well. It's a hack of my favorite in the series, so it's a long time coming for me, and it turned out well. Work on changing the abilities that you get, slightly, and tweak the bosses a little more, although I did notice an a.i. aggressiveness increase for the Robot Masters.(did I?)

All in all, not the best hack I've ever seen, but not bad at all. I like the way the stages flow, but there are admittedly a few parts that SEEM to be broken, but they are just more challenging than usual. It's unfortunately the same game in terms of Robot Masters... Supped up MegaMan 4: MegaMan C4 Score out of ten from me: Gameplay: 7/10 Graphics: 7/10 Story: 4/10(The further it is from the original, the higher the score is.) Fun factor: 6/10 Yes it's fun, but it has a bit of an Surly attitude for it's difficulty. Difficulty: 9/10 (The more challenging it is compared to the original, the higher this is.) Likeness to original: 4/10 (The further the hack is from the original game, the higher this score is.) Total: 6.6/10 Average hack A little buggy, but shows some effort.

I played this one I saw here and I don't think it's that good. Level designs are too poor, the palette is a little bit messy, and there's nothing new to the level. Sorry, this hack is only recommended for actual newbie's but you should try harder next time.
