Hack description

STORY:
The Golden Mushroom was stolen by Bowser! Mario must defeat him and retrieve it to return to the Mushroom Kingdom!

The lastest version of the hack (V1.1.4) fixes issues such as skippable and enterable unrevealed levels, HDMA gradients showing up during transition black screens and the music staying sped up after beating a level with the time below 100 seconds.
And cutscenes are now skippable and the final boss is now easier.

This is a choconilla hack which is 5 worlds long. The author has been working on this hack for over 2 years.

Are you kidding 2 years for this???supersonicjc2018-10-25Version 1.0.1

So I looked at this thinking it might be a fun Mario hack... sadly this game doesn't hold up to anything worth while, only through 2 worlds so far and the level layouts are either boring with little incentive to do more then run right to win or very annoying with pixel perfect jumping on top of blind faith to continue through the level, at this time I've yet to come across anything more then the flower power up and nothing to do with the switch blocks which was mentioned right in the start of the game to being needed, in world 2 there's a secret that takes you to the green switch (last 20 seconds tops) and a ghost house at this time I cant find any real reason to even play the house level other then completion as it goes nowhere, for a game that was 2 years in the working this game needs to go back to the drawing board and get fine tuned up a bit, the one plus I can really give and its a long shot is that the music is ok... but other then that there are literally hundreds of Mario hacks out there that are far better and don't feel kaizo with game play, honestly not even the normal par codes work in this game so forget it if you were looking to cheat your way past some of the more bs moments in the game unlike other hacks mentioned prior.

Bottom line don't bother until the author makes some very big changes to this game, also the story (if you can call it that) is meh at best I got bored with it with all the reading prompts in the beginning.

Almost two years...for something below-average.Diddy64wii2018-10-19Version 1.0.1

  • Most levels are very long, and some of them even lack checkpoints.
    • Speaking about checkpoints : Mario's mid-save placement in Stage 6-3 is badly placed, causing Mario to fall into the void as soon as you re-enter the level.
    • Powerups become too rare in later levels. Adding at least two powerups in each long stage would make them less overwhelming.
    • Barely any originality in terms of level-design gimmicks. The game feels really repetitive. (The only exception being the huge falling snowballs in world 5)
    • Some specific levels do absolutely nothing on the world map after beating them (like the Ghost House 2-B).
    • A lot of waiting in Ghost Houses because of the obstacles that raise slowly, and overabundance of Circling Boo Buddies.
    • Near-frame-perfect jumps are required during certain sections, and there are a bunch of cramped rooms with lots of Munchers/spikes on the ceiling.
    • Giant Mask Koopa's random jumps are almost impossible to anticipate properly, due to his walking speed and tall size.

Almost two years... To make this...

...meh...should've spent an extra year to polish the game and fix the numerous level-design issues...
