Hack description

7th Saga was a challenging and original RPG for SNES, but suffered from ridiculous difficulty and tedious level grinding. This hack attempts to address the difficulty so that the game is challenging without being frustrating, and to add a few fun elements to expand the strategy. Equipment and attack spells have been powered-up. More enemies have been given elemental weaknesses. New equipment and spells have been introduced. Additional changes are outlined in the readme.

This requires a headered ROM to patch.

Excellent rebalance for an under-rated game!Cookieskoon2018-03-08Version 3.0

I played through this rebalance and loved it thoroughly. I always held Elnard/The 7th Saga close to my heart, and this boosts the game up to Final Fantasy levels of replayable.

I DO miss the Elixer spell, but it is also very nice to have an attack spell on Valsu.

I now wish I could have this version of the game on a real cart, because honestly after playing this I can't get into the original cut quite the same way. This is even better than the Japanese cut, which was much more balanced than the US release.

Now if only I could persuade a nice rom-hacker to replace the original superior Japanese graphics and sound effects with this rebalance hack... WINK NUDGE OH GOD, PLEASE. ;P
