This is considerably more difficult than the original game with blue Goriyas in dungeon 1 and Like-likes, Wizrobes and 2 Lanmolas in Dungeon 2. BOTH of these dungeons are protected on the outside by Lynels, not entry level creatures such as Octoroks or Tektites. Dungeon 1 took me close to an hour to find and I managed to find dungeon 2 in short order after that, even before I beat the first dungeon after I got frustrated with its difficulty. I managed to find Dungeon 5 then Dungeon 4 before I was even close to finding Dungeon 1. I got SO frustrated with Dungeon 2 that I loaded the game up in gzip's Overworld/Dungeon viewing utility (coded in HTML so it works across all platforms) in order to find the white sword (the Master Sword I found easily, even before finding Dungeon 1, but couldn't get it because I only had 5 hearts at the time). The white sword I found on the map protected by a river, so I clearly need a ladder to get to it. OK then, where's the ladder? Most likely in a dungeon. After looking through the dungeons for a bit, I came across an old man that dropped some pretty divisive political messaging which I found to be incredibly out of place, especially given how over the top hilarious the rest of the altered text was. Unfortunately, because of the creator's politics, this hack gets a hard pass from me.
| Great LoZ Hack for all Players | Braun0 | 2018-12-29 | Version 1.0 |
I don't play a lot of Zelda, but felt like playing the original and needed a new overworld/dungeon layout. This hack was really fun without getting too overly difficult (for someone who is not an expert player). The level of difficulty is slightly greater than vanilla. The only issue (minor spoiler) is finding the raft. I would highly suggest a hint be added on how to find it. It took me several hours of blind exploring to find it - which was very tedious. Overall, I highly recommend it for those who want a new Zelda adventure that is accessible to all skill levels.
