It's not perfect, but it's gooddiablo6662021-09-21Version 1.6beta

To be honest , I really liked this hack for the fact that it tries to create a good Level Design. Almost all levels are well designed and do not cause anger. There is a quibble about the level in the "mill" (or whatever it is called) - because you can't fall down there, a bottomless hole. It is sad that the "yellow grains" are led astray from the right path... but then we still don't make such a mistake a second time.

I will praise for the bosses, or rather for passable and interesting bosses. And the bosses go into the negative: "In the stadium" and "Triple Attack". In the stadium, the Hit Box is too small to hit the target. In the "triple attack" - a glitch with flickering is possible and the impassability of the stage is ensured.

Honestly, the music is taken from another game. There are no complaints about this. But the sounds - it was necessary to leave the original, to be honest.

We are waiting for an update of this hack, because it was fun to pass these "ports" of levels.

Capcom would be proudSupergamerguy2021-03-14Version 1.6beta

This hack seems to get an unfair rap here based on its other reviews, but I would like to provide a different take on my experience. I personally think this is a really good hack overall (with just a few flaws). The graphics and art changes are masterfully done, and the new gameplay changes (like new bosses and a better use of the hammer in levels) are a cool addition. The music isn't half bad either, with a few of the songs being good jams and the rest being decent background music. From what I've seen of Tale Spin on NES, this hack represents that original game well in its presentation.

However, it's not perfect, and the biggest gripe I have comes with some of the level design. The level design in the first 5 or 6 levels is pretty good (not a whole lot of gripes there), and level G is a bit rough around the edges, but still enjoyable. The last three levels (levels H-J) are not as good though. I think they're based off of Mickey Mouse Adventures (a very early NES title), and so the color palette, level design, and music is basic and pretty rough compared to the earlier levels. The bosses also get needlessly complex and less fun in the endgame.

This is still a fun hack despite its issues, and is almost as good as something Capcom would put out themselves. If the author would change the text in the cutscenes to better match the story, it would be an even better experience for Disney Afternoon fans.

broken and unable to finishsupersonicjc2019-02-05Version 1.6beta

so I gave this game a try to seeing a how to if you will of using 1 games game play laid over another games level maps if you will, well that is where the game fails, level maps aren't made for platforming and the enemy placement is very evil at times, almost a kaizo look if you will, you find yourself quite a few times where you need to get around an enemy and you don't have an item to actually attack the enemy so your required 9 times out of 10 to tank the hit however you don't have any I frames so you end up tanking the hit for nothing, later on in the game you run into bosses that come in 2s and finally 3s which was as far as I could get even with cheats, the game takes the bosses under 1 health bar which is a nice repreieve but once you get the 3 bosses in 1 room the first set I ran into I hit 2 of them at one time and they all despawned so I was stuck, got back to it and hit 1 and it despawned but was able to still attack the hitbox even with nothing on screen, the 2nd set I ran into the first boss just goes to the bottom of the screen and vanishes so its not that big of an issue there... then you get to the final level, you go into a screen transaction and end up on the world map with no idea what is a platform and what is a pit so the game ends up dead right there as you cant finish it at all.... this game had a lot of neat ideas but ran out of ideas half way through making this a broken kaizo game that should be avoided until the build is either a actual complete game or if you like to scream at the screen for no reason at all, fair warning STAY AWAY FROM THIS ONE

Impressively made! Curious bad choices with sound/musicKevvyLava2019-01-13Version 1.6beta

This is really a masterful achievement and the level design and enemy placement are wonderful (too difficult for beginners on the early levels). Feels very familiar to the classics, but is basically a well thought-out combination of the two games.

The biggest negative in my mind is the music and sound effects. The music appears to be mostly from TailSpin, which is to the hack's detriment even if the point of it is to feel like TailSpin. Very obnoxious tunes, mostly sounding like Capcom's "B-team".

I wanted to play this more, but I think the hack has too many difficult parts near the beginning for beginners to enjoy this (while battling through the bad music). In the original game, there weren't too many tricky platforming parts until later levels, but this will definitely present a reasonable challenge.
