Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, PSX NTSC-U (slus_000.67)

Hack description

This is a patch which makes bosses harder in SOTN while leaving normal enemies alone. Everyone knows the bosses are the most fun part of the game, so now you can spend more time with them!
This patch is a harder version of Symphony of the Night, PSX NTSC-U (slus_000.67).

==This patch includes==
*300% HP of ALL Bosses, (except Dracula in prologue, you can still beat him under 1 minute). 300% compared with the original game. 100% in the original.
*300% HP includes Shaft's Orb when you fight with Richter.
*270% HP of Galamoth.
*300% HP includes simple monsters like Karasuman, Slogra and Gaibon in the Inverted Castle, because they shares same HP with bosses Karasuman, Slogra and Gaibon.
*250% HP includes Lesser Demon (boss and monsters).
*Increased time of items disappearing, from 5 to 8 seconds (except hearts, money, sub-weapons). Item after 4 seconds starts to blink, then item blinks for 4 second, which gives totally 8 seconds.
*Added infinite Wing Smash (like in Sega Saturn version)
*Ability to restore HP in the save rooms was removed
*Ability to restore MP in the save rooms was removed

No other changes. The rest is the same as in the original.

Not bad, Not bad at allJuraElvis2022-08-24Version 1.4

I've beat this game countless times... as well as several other castlevania, I liked this version because it really tested my patience, the bosses of this version take a lot of damage which makes them more threatening and made me remember the torture of playing Cursed of darkness on the "CRAZY" difficulty, I was surprised that Gaibon and Slogra managed to beat me, it's been a decade that I don't know what it's like to lose to them (I played SOTN in childhood), if you've already zeroed Sotn to the point of finding it ridiculously easy, I challenge you to take this test of patience in trying to beat these bosses without dying, Have fun.

Note: Finally the "death" boss is no longer made of paper...

A few changes are welcome, but a few really aren't at all. At least some amount of HP in the save room? The boss design of SotN isn't built for you to be really good and to struggle through, it's built for you to tank through it with massive amounts of HP and defense. Which, brings me to my next point: Bosses just feel stupid now. Now instead of being too easy and dying quickly, bosses are a test of your patience and nothing more. It's not about how well you can evade attacks or time attacks. It's about "how long do I have to keep whacking this dude with my sword?" It just doesn't work. And come on, no damn mana restore in the save room either? That changes nothing except making you wait to restore your mana.

If you're looking for a disappointing test of your patience, this is it. Adding HP isn't how you make a game difficult.
