| Perfection! | Jodeth | 2023-09-16 | Version 2.0 |
Don't bother with the original anymore. DX completely replaces it. This is the quality I'd expect from Nintendo. The colors choices are spot-on. The mood of the levels looks very unique to each other and makes you wanna play all the way to the end just to see them all. It's a treat to see on an OLED screen with emulator color correction turned off. The performance stayed smooth throughout. Not a single hiccup. The old Mario model is optional and looks so similar to the original model (I prefer it). 10/10 hack!
| Gives the game the true "Mario" feeling | Itssamuelsmartedits | 2023-04-12 | Version 2.0 |
This hack remakes the game to fit the main Mario games like SMB1 but also has those colorful and expanded backgrounds like SMW, but better! It allows options to optimize to your wants too! 10/10
| Definitive Version of an Absolute Classic | BlackSunshine | 2023-04-12 | Version 2.0 |
Colour palette choices are spot on. The choice of old and new designs are welcome. A lot of love put into this hack and it shows. Your collection is lacking without this. 100% recommended.
| Thank you Mar(fish)o! | Mi5KL | 2023-01-29 | Version 2.0 |
Really goes above and beyond, the new graphics freshen the game up, Luigi's physics make him feel unique, and the color choices are all good. Noticed some graphical bugs, like the top left corner of all the octopi enemies heads missing, and Daisy's "Mario!" had a fish emoji where the I should've been, but that's more funny than anything.
| A great update, with a small complaint | AdoniramJ | 2022-06-04 | Version 2.0 |
Version 2.0 fixed all of my issues with the original version of this hack. I also love the optional, new Classic graphics look. It looks clean and amazing. The only issue I have with this update, and it is indeed minor, is that soft-resetting (by pressing A+B+Start+Select all at once) doesn't just send you back to the title screen but also resets your game's entire settings and saved progress. This kind of goes against the point of your personal settings being saved. I know that this is probably just an oversight, and I know that soft-resetting is not necessary to reset your game, but considering this doesn't happen with other Game Boy games that allow for soft resets, it would be great to have this inconsistency fixed in another update at some point.
| One of the best hacks of RHDN | T29 | 2022-06-01 | Version 2.0 |
This hack is like the WiiWare port of Cave Story but better. They added new graphics, colors, Luigi, and fixed some little things. If you don't like the new graphics you can switch back to the old ones. Definitely, this is better than a remake.
| One of the greatest colorization hacks just got better! | Bluestreak | 2022-04-28 | Version 2.0 |
Super Mario Land... A game known to be not only one of the first ever Game Boy games released, but also a classic many could say hasn't aged well. When a hack like this comes along, however, the dated oldie (but goodie) gets an extra life. With beautiful colours that take full advantage of the fact the GBC has eight four-color background palettes, and eight three-color sprite palettes, you get a game that's not only a visual treat, but also, with its newest update, makes it the greatest way to adventure through Sarasaland. Now taking advantage of the faster CPU, the ability to use "new" style sprites, and "old" style sprites (if you're like me and adore that retro feel), and best of all, the ability to play as Luigi with his signature control style, makes a quick, but fun game you'll play again and again just to see if you can get a high score! Also, are you a bad enough plumber to beat that hard mode?
| The only way to play Super Mario Land. | peacefighter | 2022-04-26 | Version 2.0 |
I played the first version of this ROM hack (1.0) a long time ago and enjoyed it, but the sprite for Mario was slightly too big. It looked impressive, but I preferred the original sprites and didn't really care for this hack. I recently played through the newest version of this hack (2.0) and it is such a big improvement. I love that there are so many options. You can choose the original sprites or new sprites and both are in full color. You can choose to play as Mario or Luigi. You can even choose the difficulty. This is Amazing! My favorite sprite change in this update is Daisy. Daisy finally looks like Daisy. If you love Game Boy games this is a must own. My fingers are still crossed that this author continues and makes a Super Mario Land 3, Wario Land full color experience with all the care and attention to detail that they put into this game. I really love game. This makes the original game obsolete. This is a great ROM hack!
| Color me impressed. | tsubasaplayer16 | 2022-04-26 | Version 2.0 |
Coming from the great but a bit rough 1.0 release to the new 2.0 release was a huge, and I mean HUGE jump in features and fixes. Right off the bat selecting the harder difficulty and completing it would trigger the level select. Very nice. Now I don't have to do a regular playthrough again! AND a battery save keeps that! No need for save states to jump to the level select anymore! I thought the "new" sprites was a bit bulky when dealing with stomping enemies, but he's manageable when I got the hang of it. Seeing that there's an option to enable the old graphics was great to see, and with the proper color palettes too. I had a blast playing through it the first time and this is no exception now with the new stuff going for it. I still feel like the credits still having missing characters from 1.0 still makes the hack a liiiiittle rough on the edges (idk if playing it on original hardware + flash cart makes a difference), but why care when there's a whole lot of positives going for it? This hack is just a straight upgrade from the original, although as I said, the credit names got a bit messed up, but what can you do. It's great! (Played on original hardware with an Everdrive GB X7.)
| v2.0 is a massive improvement. | WeNeedWarioLandDXwColor | 2022-04-26 | Version 2.0 |
v2.0 took this hack from, a nice little way to play the game, to the essential way to play the game. The new options menu is amazing, and really raised the bar for SML hacks. My only issue, is the Goomba sprites with the "new" style look kinda bad, and Luigi's physics are frustratingly slippery. I died so many times just to try and beat world 1 with Luigi, which is a breeze with Mario. He moves too far with only a quick tap, and is too hard to control while jumping. The ladder is of course common for Luigi. All in all, I would suggest this hack as the absolute best version of the game, but I have my gripes.
| Absolutely amazing! | WebSlinger | 2022-04-26 | Version 2.0 |
I LOVE how amazing this is! You can switched between Mario and Luigi, and switched between the new and classic sprites! I actually did a Live Stream on this for fun! So awesome!
| Stunning DX, should be an official release ! | Ligeia | 2022-04-26 | Version 1.0 |
This colorization is absolutely amazing and breathes new life into the game. Like SML2 DX from the same author, the color palette choices are stunning and tasteful, even in the small details. The new Daisy sprite is absolutely gorgeous. This could (and should) be an official Nintendo release ! No technical issue to report, I could finish the game without a single bug. A minor niptick : Tatanga's sprite doesn't seem to be colorized as thoroughly as the rest of the game. He and his ship are just shades of purple, which is fine but I think his ship could use a more detailed colorization. Maybe make the ship grey, yellow and red to match the official artwork if possible. Now the controversial part, Mario's sprite : I think it looks great. Yes he is bigger than before and his hitbox remains the same. I thought this would be an issue but it turns out it didn't affect my gameplay. The only small gripe I have with it is that the enemy sprites are a little bit small in comparison. But it matches the new Daisy sprite very well. All things considered I like the new sprite. Absolutely 100% recommended ! Thank you for the great work ! Edit v2.0 : This new update takes an already amazing hack to a whole new level. The new sprite redesigns are great and that option menu, man ! I'm impressed. I really hope the hack author is gonna do SML3 - Wario Land after this.
| Maybe The Best Hack I've Ever Played | Neon Streetlight | 2022-04-23 | Version 2.0 |
Just completed this game using the new patch and it's perfect. Takes a game that was always fun and breathes life into it. I've always loved the box art for this game because of how colorful it was and now the game matches that aesthetic. Having options for old and new graphics built into the hack instead of having to patch separately is such a great feature too. There's something for everyone here and it truly is the definitive way to play this game.
| Get This Now! | Razormime | 2022-04-23 | Version 2.0 |
I've tried so many times to give this game a chance, but have never been able to get into it. ...UNTIL NOW! I am having a blast with this game, now! I want to thank the hack developer for making this game playable. The options to change the sprites around is the icing on the cake. I highly recommend this hack. 10/10.
| Great features and great implementations | boogaboom | 2022-04-23 | Version 2.0 |
Not only the colorization is just perfect but that little menu at the start screen is so freaking NEAT. This is one of those hacks after which you never go back to the original. Love this so much. Thank you, Toruzz!
| Perfect execution | Eldiran | 2022-04-22 | Version 2.0 |
Flawless colorization of Mario Land with perfect polish. Very impressed by the sprite work and the new options.
| Original sprites + color = Perfection | legend80 | 2022-04-21 | Version 2.0 |
2.0 release seems to address all the feedback from reviews. Namely the Mario sprite (which I think looks really weird/non-Nintendo like) can now be disabled in lieu of the original gfx. Thanks for giving us the ability to enjoy your colorization work while enjoying the good Nin sprites. Well done!!
| SMLDX 2.0 a great hack perfectly polished and worked with care and dedication | nj180grados | 2022-04-21 | Version 2.0 |
I have played this new version 2.0 of 2022 and in a word: sensational. The hack was already good previously and had a great dedication in the colorization and adaptation work, but now, in addition to polishing the previous errors, we have two graphic modes: the original (which many of us asked for in color) and the new and renewed one, which is also now better stylized, especially the character of Mario, who is not so stubborn. As if that were not enough, we have the possibility to choose between these graphic modes from a new options menu and as an extra we can now play with Luigi! I love the ability to choose to play on hard mode. The game now feels complete, well finished and very enjoyable for all tastes! It is noted that the author has taken into account the requests of the people. So for my part my congratulations for such a great job. Thank you for making it possible to have these Mario Land Saga titles in color! I would just like to ask the author to get with the latest installment (and first of Wario) Wario Land Super Mario Land 3 in color! It would be sensational if the same author did it to complete the saga and above all because of how well worked his hacks are.
| Best version of Super Mario Land Yet | RunTheCoins | 2022-04-21 | Version 2.0 |
Finally, a great improvement over the original, with stunning graphics and extra content, it's hard not to like this game!
| Great, But still needs some Improvement | TheLonelySoul | 2021-08-09 | Version 1.0 |
As a colored hack of Super Mario Land, it's great! The spritework for Mario does need improvement, and I suggest adding a way to play as Luigi.
| Don't even play the original anymore! THIS HACK IS THE WAY | atpstudios | 2021-08-09 | Version 1.0 |
This guy has done it again! Better in every single way than the non-color original. Honestly ignore the people complaining about the Mario sprite. I have played and loved the original since I was 6 years old and yeah although it sucks the sprite has been changed but compare them and you will realize it's a better improvement. It more closely resembles Mario's sprite in the sequel more this way. On that note though, I am all for just keeping everything original how it's supposed to be; but in my honest opinion this sprite update is perfectly fine how it is - if anything I prefer it. Even if you don't prefer it I think it's well worth it in order to play this game in FULL beautiful color. The game benefits greatly with all the color all over the place. Somehow playing through it again I actually like the game more now because everything looks so damn fantastic!!!!
| It's great, but the Mario sprite... | Juamnitruh | 2021-01-02 | Version 1.0 |
The colors are amazing, but Mario... He's just too big. It would be better if you just used the original sprites, or made sprites that are respectful to the original size.
| Vastly improved the experience | Supergamerguy | 2020-07-24 | Version 1.0 |
The original Super Mario Land was charming, sure, but its complete lack of color and basic sprite work (even more than Super Mario Bros 1) made it hard for newcomers to approach its adventure. This hack fixes that entirely. With a stunning color revamp and a sleek new Mario Sprite, I would recommended this hack to anyone interested in checking out this aging Game Boy title. Some users have pointed out "visible frame-rates issues", but unless you're a diehard Game Boy enthusiast, you won't notice a difference. I love the complete overhaul of the hack's graphics and Mario's new look. Keep up the good work!
| It's all great... except for Mario... | seba00 | 2020-05-26 | Version 1.0 |
Changing the Mario sprites was a bad call in my opinion, for a few reasons mainly: 1.- the mario sprite is inconsistent with the rest of the sprites in the game, while everything is a reduced/simplified version of sprites in super mario bros, Mario looks like from another game entirely. 2.- there is absolutely nothing wrong with the original mario sprites, why change them? 3.- the size of the sprite is almost double the original size, I suppose everyone is remembering what size mario was originally to ṕlay tha game, so as to know if the character avoids an obstacle, or can squeeze in certain areas or not This would be an excelent, almost perfect hack if it wheren't for that one questionable design choice... may I suggest 2 alternatives: give colors to the original sprites and use those, or create a new set of sprites that respect the originals in size
| Super Mario Land DX | Fiel | 2020-03-04 | Version 1.0 |
This is one of my favorite games. His work was excellent, it was much more fun to play this mario with this patch. Now it's my favorite Mario! Congratulations my friend and thanks! I hope to see more perfect works like this in more GB games.
| Lovely Scenery! | Mother Kojiro | 2020-01-03 | Version 1.0 |
This version colorizes the game, but also touches up a few of the sprites, namely our eponymous hero. It looks great, and there are some nice subtle touches that make it extra special. I think my favorite is that the sky in the background is not the same color from stage to stage; many worlds start out with blue skies, but World 1 has a nice sunset in Stage 2, and World 2 has a misty sky, like a lovely day at the harbor. It's a great update for an old classic!
| Needs Some Improvements, But Otherwise Solid Hack! | Tritnew | 2019-08-06 | Version 1.0 |
Some animations are a little bit crusty (like Mario's walk cycle for example), and some art could use some improvements. I think my biggest issue is the frame rate. The original would run at a silky 60, but here it gets a little crusty from time to time. Mostly an audio issue though in all honesty. This is most likely a optimization issue. Other than that, it's a solid hack that I still recommend you try out, but hopefully these issues get ironed out in a next version.
| Beautiful art but framerate/pacing issues | wiedo | 2019-07-08 | Version 1.0 |
Amazing artwork, I really love it! Although it really looks different than every other Mario game I like the use of colours. The only thing which feels wrong to me is the colouring of princess daisy, I feel she supposed to have darker hair. One big problem with this version is what like the other reviewers said: the framerate is incredibly jerky, this has to be fixed to make this a good version of SML. At the moment the game doesn't feel right with this mod.
| Breathless.. | MiniComputer | 2019-06-25 | Version 1.0 |
I got through playing this hack at the end of may. This recolored hack of SML, I would recommend to anyone. One of the features that caught my eye was mario's new gfx. From the sky, to dirt-stone ground tiles, waterfalls that almost looked like smb2! I suggest this for on the go flash carts, portable mini consoles.
| Incompatible with version 1.1, among other small issues | BlazeHeatnix | 2019-05-27 | Version 1.0 |
I have to question the logic of making this hack incompatible with version 1.1. With SML2, it wasn't a big deal, considering that game's revisions didn't really change anything. But SML1 has different, arguably better music in version 1.1, so why not use that as a base? Other than that, while this is indeed an excellent hack and a vast improvement over the outdated Colorizer edits, I have to echo other reviewer complaints, and I'm hoping that toruzz can address them: 1) Allow compatibility with version 1.1. 2) Fix Mario's sprite to be less awkward-looking. 3) Change some colors to match the official artwork. 4) Optimize the framerate to where it's as smooth as SML2DX was.
| Incredible | Thirteen 1355 | 2019-05-10 | Version 1.0 |
There's another DX hack for SML1, which served its purpose well enough. This however, blows it out of the water, bringing the quality to Nintendo-like standards. This is the true, definitive, Super Mario Land DX.
| Great, just a few things to improve on... | Mesacboy | 2019-05-01 | Version 1.0 |
Amazing hack, awesome to see the new sprite of Mario and addition of color. My only piece of constructive critisism would be the choice of colors for some things. Mario's color scheme when he has the Superball Flower looks the exact same as without it which could be pretty confusing. Lots of enemies' colors also don't match promotional artwork as seen on the cover or manual too, for example the Honen which are white in official artwork, purple in the hack. The same applies to Pompon Flowers, the spiders, etc. This isn't necessarily a flaw, I just wish the colors were more accurate to what they're supposed to be, but maybe there were limitations that I'm unaware of. That aside, still an amazing hack! Good job yet again.
| Not Perfect But Not A Catastrophe Either | Eldrethor | 2019-04-30 | Version 1.0 |
It's funny how people can turn their noses at something that's meant to be fun. What is meant to be a celebration of the Game Boy's 30th anniversary has been meant with mostly the praise that it rightfully deserves, but there have been some surprisingly negative feedback thrown in as well, much of which are a bit overblown. The hack does an incredible job of colorizing the black-and-white (or pea-soup-green) world of the original game, and it breathes new life into a game that's often overshadowed by its NES counterpart. Everything looks exactly as one would imagine the game ought to look, and it provides a colorful experience that the Super Game Boy never fully delivered. What especially impressed me was the use of ambient background colors, which adds a lot to the game; the black space in the underground sections, and the brown backdrop in the tombs, add a certain depth to those areas that you never knew they needed. The new Mario sprite is something that you will either love or hate, but I think it's just okay. The problem is that the original blocky Mario sprite is oriented with the front of his body facing the screen, and his head facing the side. It's a perspective that works fine when abstracted, but looks weird when details are fleshed out, even more so when accounting for run animations. This is what's happening here, and while the perspective and run cycles look a bit odd, they're in no way a dealbreaker for this hack. Some have also complained about the new sprite causing collision detection problems, which is most noticeable when jumping diagonally around coin blocks. However, I tested the game with and without the hack, and this problem is consistent with the original game. That same comparison also determined that the hack does cause a slight dip in the frame rate. Hopefully, toruzz can find a way to optimize the code and smooth it out, but that slight dip isn't so horrible as to not warrant giving this hack a try. Another reviewer complained about how toruzz should have fixed a bunch of bugs, added Luigi, and throw in some additional content, but that's not a fair assessment of a hack that only sought to give the game a fresh coat of paint in celebration of its roots. It's like receiving a free pizza and complaining that it should have came with pepperoni, sausage, peppers, and extra cheese. Overall, it's not a perfect hack by any means; the goofy perspective of Mario's sprite lends itself to his reworked sprite looking weird in its more detailed state, and there is that noticeable dip in frame rate, but this isn't the catastrophe that some people have it out to be. It's an enjoyable experience from beginning to end, and it's one that will make you smile.
| The definitive way to experience Super Mario Land | Chewbatrij | 2019-04-27 | Version 1.0 |
The new character sprites for Mario and Daisy are so good! It's impressive how much charm one can fit into this tiny resolution. It's the first proper Mario Land hack, which doesn't feel like a quick and dirty GBC port. The beautiful new background elements make the game feel like a proper prequel to SML2. This game needed a makeover badly. And this hack delivered. There's really not much else to say, and that's a good thing. It's still Mario Land 1. But better.
| Colorization causes choppy frame rate - needs work before being considered definitive. | DrDimension | 2019-04-27 | Version 1.0 |
I'm not sure if the other reviewers failed to use a sufficiently critical eye, but this hack results in a choppy and ugly frame rate as compared to the silky smooth 60Hz of the original. Also, I'm pretty sure that SML2 DX's frame rate did not suffer even tho it was done by the same author, so perhaps it's a lack of optimization. Also, the redrawn sprites are, IMO, choppily animated and also uglier looking than the originals. I hope this hack gets more time put into it with optimizations. If so, I will replace this review with a recommendation. Thank you!
| Absolutely Amazing | insectduel | 2019-04-25 | Version 1.0 |
These vibrant colors are awesome to look at. I also love the graphic sprites but the creator didn't have to do that but it did anyway. Something that Nintendo should have done other than The Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening DX after the Game Boy Color has been released. I always think that the Game Boy was a mobile Nintendo Entertainment System but it was close to it.
| The game is easy to play. Is excellent. | Vallenatero2015 | 2019-04-24 | Version 1.0 |
Easy to play, I love Super Mario Land conversion to GameBoy Color, its colors is excellent.
| A great way to celebrate 30 years of the Game Boy! | ShockwaveS08 | 2019-04-23 | Version 1.0 |
So, imagine my surprise when this ROM hack appeared on the Newest Hacks section of the front-page, and to find out that the author is the same person who did the DX colorization of its sequel, "Six Golden Coins" two years prior! The Pros: Full, comprehensive colorization of each and every stage in the game, far more than any color-hack before it; it feels like a proper Nintendo product, with all the attention to detail that has been put into this! Even the original black-and-white title screen has been given the same makeover, which so many other hacks simply neglected. The Cons: None; just download it already! Final thoughts: Overall, I'm very impressed by toruzz's dedicated work on breathing new life into these classic games, and look forward to what he may have in store for us in the future. (Here's hoping for a Wario Land DX hack, to complete the SML trilogy!)
| A classic is reborn in stunning COLOR! | phantom_with_a_rose | 2019-04-23 | Version 1.0 |
I remember getting the original "Super Mario Land" for Game Boy and playing it for the first time on Christmas Day of '97. Despite how short the playthrough is, it still remains as one of my favorite Mario games of all time! Since the release of the Game Boy Color (which I received for Christmas the following year), I only DREAMED of seeing SML and SML2 re-done in color and hoped Nintendo would make both projects come to fruition (alas, they never did). Fortunately, toruzz finally made my dreams a reality not only by not only making a fully colorized version of SML2, but also now its predecessor! I have tried a few color hacks of SML and thought that they were pretty decent (albeit flawed) efforts, but this is, by FAR, the BEST colorized rendition of the classic GB title! I also love the updated sprite designs for Mario, Princess Daisy (who now wears her iconic yellow dress and crown), and the enemies and bosses! Like toruzz's color hack of SML2, this truly feels like an official GBC remake/re-release of SML by Nintendo. Toruzz has done an OUTSTANDING job at making almost everything look as detailed and precise as possible! My only minor complaint is the lack of color in the fireballs that Mario shoots at enemies (which is still black). It would have been nice to see those have a reddish color to them similar to the color of the fireballs seen in most other Mario games. Aside from that, I had an absolute BLAST replaying through SML with this patch! It is truly THE definitive version to play. HIGHLY recommended!!
| An Impressive Surprise! | TRIFORCE89 | 2019-04-23 | Version 1.0 |
This is a great work. The colours are nice, and it looks very professional. I haven't encounter the hitbox issue reported. I don't mind the graphical changes necessarily either. From a nostalgia perspective though, it'd be nice to have a patch with the original spritework too.
| The best colorful Super Mario Land Ever! | Geoshi | 2019-04-23 | Version 1.0 |
I'm really impressed with this ROM Hack for Super Mario Land and it's certainly better than the other colored ROM Hacks where they were just simply colored with no professional effort and didn't stay as close to the elements source material as possible with the palette limitations until Super Mario Land DX by toruzz was born! But it's more than just a colored ROM hack from the original, now the sprites are more consistent and feel a bit more complete looking as they all have cartoony outlines now making it not clash, unlike the original Game Boy title. It even feels more alive with actual colored backgrounds now! My only gripes are that it didn't add at least one or two new content and fixing some issues to make the game even better and not badly flawed. For example sometimes, if Mario jumps onto a Piranha Plant, he goes right through it without getting harmed like in the original. A minor issue that bothers me is that the 1UP Mushrooms didn't replace the 1UP Hearts to make some replace use of the Game Boy Color. The original Game Boy games reasoning is that 1UP Hearts are used is because the 1-Up Mushrooms in black-and-white palettes of the original Game Boy would make it impossible to distinguish between 1-Up Mushrooms and Super Mushrooms. But now that there is color the 1UP Mushrooms should've fittingly be included. Just like how we can use special tunics in Link's Awakening DX for the Game Boy Color. Super Mario Land 2: DX had 1UP Mushrooms and now it seems inconsistent the first game doesn't have any to follow to the sequel. What I was even more baffled about it that Luigi wasn't included in this enhanced variant to Super Mario Land, which felt like a missed opportunity as Luigi fans would've had the option to save Princess Daisy more as his own story and fittingly save her since the two are commonly paired in the games, even as a Green Mario swap (his own psychics don't have to be included, if it's not possible) like in Super Mario Bros. Deluxe for the GBC with edited text over Mario's name to become "Luigi's" name would've been the best way to save space storage with the limited ROM. Now that we have color in this I don't see why it's not a problem to include him regardless, Yet Luigi was added in Super Mario Land 2 DX? It now feels inconsistent with the sequel as well but not having him in the first game is the stranger part. If an alternate patch to have 1UP Mushrooms and Luigi (or as his own patch) was included it would certainly make this hack twice as better and be fairly consistent to the sequel! Overall, I still enjoy this version of the modified Game Boy Classic it's better than the original Game Boy title I can say for sure, but I feel that Super Mario Land 2: DX is still more superior than the first games colored title. Now we just need Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land then all the Game Boy Wario Land and Super Mario Land games are complete in color!
| Great New Look for a Great Old Game | Tyrantnyx | 2019-04-23 | Version 1.0 |
Super Mario Land is my favorite Mario game, and the second Game Boy game I played. I always loved the monochrome style, but this colorization gives the feeling like I'm playing this for the first time again, I love it. I would highly recommend this to players new and old. I also have to clear up a misunderstanding brought up in the other reviews, the flower in this game isn't a Fire Flower, but rather a Superball Flower, unique to this game, as well as WarioWare Gold. Official art shows the Superball thrown by Mario as completely black in most images, and green in some comics, with Mario retaining his usual colors, so this colorization matches the official art very well.
| Another great hack from Toruzz | Shade Aurion | 2019-04-22 | Version 1.0 |
Despite what the other review says, I haven't had a problem with the new Mario sprite and hit boxes. In fact, I love it and think it looks great. I'm used to playing the original so it's easy to adapt and much more pleasing to the eye. Toruzz has also colourized Super Mario 2 and did an amazing job so when I saw this dropped, I jumped on it right away. Very well done!
