Hack description

Once upon a time, someone was playing Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. As they played, they found themselves wishing that they could play the game as someone else – specifically, the cute girl from Broadcast Satellaview-exclusive game, BS Zelda: The Ancient Stone Tablets. While that's not a thought that many would share, it did lead to the creation of a unique character-swap patch for a classic game!

Introducing... "Zelda II: BS-X Mascot Girl Edition!"

Included in this download is an optional patch that does away with the custom title screen and altered text, leaving only the customized player character! Not only is this great for purists who just want a new character, but it also serves as a convenient and hassle-free method to adding the character to other hacks and modifications by other authors! How considerate!

But, wait! There's more! Also in this download are patches for the Famicom Disk System version! That's right! Those looking to add a cute girl to their disk-based copy of Zelda II can do so with relative ease!

So, if playing a classic game as a cute girl sounds like a good time, give this modification a try!

Imagine my surpriseArchAngelleofJustice2019-07-03Version 1.0.0

I was preparing my annual playthrough of every Zelda game ever and decided to prepare some hacks, and see what was floating around. Very glad I did, as this looks great.

I've been a big fan of your ALttP BS Mascot hack for a long time, and I've enjoyed playing as a female protagonist in LoZ and ALttP in the guise of 'Karen'. So much so that I taught myself some very awful romhacking to create The Adventure of Lady Link, which is basically this but less refined.

I wasn't initially too sure about the new sprites, based just on the screenshots. However, seeing them in action totally changed my mind. Karen's animations are a joy to see, I love the little details in her facial animations and her windup for her sword swing is unique. You haven't just made this "Link but a girl", you've given her a personality that wasn't there.

Thanks so much for making this. You are a champ.
