I cannot play this game now without this hack. Wow, it make the third so much better and the secret menus are awesome. Heck I could see this being used for UMK 3 tournament bracket if you have a house party. This is awesome and a must have for sure. :-D

Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 is a poor, miserable game. Many fans consider it worse than Mortal Kombat 2 and so do I. I bought this game a long time ago when it came up on the SNES, and I think I did not play to it longer than five minutes. The gameplay is wrecked by an inhuman difficulty - even in "very easy" - and the finishing moves are... embarassing. This game sucks and I wonder why the AVGN did not make a review on it yet.

Playing as the bosses - Motaro and Shao Kahn - changes EVERYTHING ! It makes the game much more accessible, fun and enjoyable by re-balancing the difficulty. I could get to the last stage without getting my ass kicked by the CPU. Thank you so much for this great hack !

I am nostalgic towards the SNES version of UMK3 as it was the only version I had played. I am also quite biased in this regard as I had an SNES longer than a Genesis and only played this game on an SNES, while only hearing about the Genesis port (and the occasional pictures and watching someone play it, or at least the MK3 counterpart). Comparing the two, I thought the SNES version was better in every way; sounds, graphics, etc. But I later found out the Genesis port had more music, stages, and bios/endings. There was even a huge hack made to the Genesis version that blew the SNES version out of the water.

Although not many hacks/patches have been done for this port, I am glad to see there was at least something done to upgrade the experience. There was a hack I had found about a year ago that made the bosses available like this hack does, both for single player and versus, but also places Human Smoke and the incomplete Chameleon after the bosses on the fighter select screen. I thought this was the coolest thing. The inclusion of Chameleon was pretty neat but without any special moves and not switching between the ninjas (only a bare-bones Scorpion) there really was no point.

I did feel there was something missing: I wanted to have the cheat menus already available at the start. So, when I finally saw this hack, I was ecstatic. This is what I've been looking for. In addition I do like the inclusion to hold Start while selecting Smoke to get Human Smoke. However, neither the Y button nor the B button work for this (the actual buttons, not what is assigned to them).

All-in-all this is an awesome hack and if there would be any improvements or extra ideas in the future of this hack, it would be even more amazing. But as it stands this is a pretty cool hack and should replace vanilla UMK3.
