I have played a lot of SOR 2 hacks, and this is one of the best ones yet. We have lots of hacks to choose from that are incredibly fun, if not exceptionally challenging (for instance, try playing the one with Sagat from Street Fighter on a harder difficulty and watch how you walk through the game without a scratch) and others that are cool but glitched (the Robocop one). But this game seems to have a great variety of good quality hacks. This hack provides a new twist on this classic beat-em-up, with classic characters from a SNES (erm, Switch) game that were imprisoned in a 2-D, side scrolling cell that limited the dynamics of the Ninja Warrior characters (yet nonetheless still insanely fun). This hack sets them free, and now you can do all sorts of crazy moves in a mock 3-D environment, where you can move your Ninja in all 8 directions. I only used the Lady Ninja Kunoichi so far, but boy was this one heck of a party. She sliced and diced her way to the finish line with ease, and I don't know if it was because I played SOR2 hacks and the original Ninja Warriors a million times and just got good at it or that the character is just so bad-ass. Either way, what a beautifully made game. The game is worth playing just to get to the end boss battles, which was a great surprise. What I'd like to see in a new version is, if possible, the introduction of some of the enemies from the Ninja Warriors universe, which I think would provide a tremendous challenge because the SOR2 bad guys just don't make the cut anymore (looking at you, Signal). Let's see what the Fire-Breathers or the Samurai sword lady ninjas can do in an 8-direction environment...or god help us the twin cyborgs at the end of stage 6. I had a ton of fun with this game hack and I highly recommend it. I look forward to new hacks and new ideas from the hacker, as I think he "gets it". Great work, for sure. (PS, I have no idea what game "yaksha" came from, but I am absolutely using this character next)
| awesome crossover | Cupcom5/NGKFlower | 2021-06-21 | Version 02905 |
If you're a fan of Ninja Warriors Again, you'll love this hack. Kamaitachi is my go-to character Kunoichi second Yaksha pretty good with the juggling. The parry was a nice new feature, at first I didn't know how I did it and couldn't figure it out so I had to look at the move list again Also couldn't help but laugh with Harley Quinn and Two-Face, I guess the cast was programmed to take these two out. lol Fun to play, I enjoyed this very much. Haven't played as Ninja yet, but I know I'm gonna like his gameplay just like the rest of them :)
| An exceptional update | edc2013 | 2021-04-23 | Version 02905 |
I enjoyed playing savok's original Ninja Warriors hack and really hoped he might revisit it to give the hack a bit more polish. What he has delivered here goes way beyond that! Character sprites have been replaced with those from the latest Ninja Warriors/Saviors game, and the effort put into converting them to SOR2 has really paid off. The characters look amazing and are superbly animated. They fit in so well with the rest of the games art style. Everything else (sounds, controls, move sets) have also been updated brilliantly from the previous version. I can highly recommend this hack to all NW and SOR fans out there
